Luke 4: 18,19
The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because the LORD hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised; to preach the acceptable year of the LORD.
Jesus is telling us that when the Word of the LORD goes forth it is anointed to heal, deliver, recover sight to the blind, set at liberty and prophecy. The LORD has promised that His Word will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:10, 11; see yesterday's comments). Our task is to proclaim and preach the Word, JESUS did and so should we.
There is a phrase that keeps ringing in my mind, "people are dying to hear the Word of the LORD". There are thousands of people who are dying right now, because they have not heard the Word of the LORD proclaimed to them; the Word of life. There are thousands who are dying because they have not seen the WORD of the LORD lived through His people.
There is an old Quaker saying that I remember from my childhood in Philadelphia, "Your actions are speaking so loudly I can't hear what you are saying." We must be like JESUS, who is the Word of GOD, live the Gospel twice as much as you talk it, then people will listen to the word you speak.
PEOPLE ARE DYING TO HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD IN AND THROUGH YOU
