Zechariah 9: 11
As for thee also, by the Blood of thy Covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit in which is no water.
PROTECTION AND OVERCOMING; DELIVERANCE
This verse from Zechariah is a shadow of the deliverance of the souls waiting for the coming of the Messiah - the promised one. These souls had waited in sleep for the time when the Messiah would open the prison doors and lead them into Heaven. This is one of the references to the "descent into Hell" of JESUS after His Crucifixion.
There is much more to this verse than what has already happened. The Blood of JESUS sets captives free and breaks every yoke of bondage today. When we plead the Blood of JESUS, every addiction, every place of bondage is broken and we are set free from those things that keep us prisoner and apart from GOD. First, we must plead the Blood of JESUS as our protection and deliverance; then we must continue in the freedom that is given to us. We can not return to the old ways or look back like Lot's wife. We MUST walk in newness of life as a new creation; old things passed away and behold, all things are new.
Newness and freedom are unfamiliar to those who are newly set free, so daily study of the Word of GOD and daily prayer is essential. Plead the Blood of JESUS over your life and the LORD will pass over you with His Grace covering. No harm will come to the Children of GOD who are covered with the Blood of JESUS.
