Luke 6:38
Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye measure it shall be measured to you again.
JESUS SAID IT; I BELIEVE IT; THAT SETTLES IT.
Do the words of JESUS "settle it" for you? Will you not only believe these words, but act on them?
Since the beginning, GOD ordained this principle of giving. He gave existence to everything that is: angels, principalities, the Universe, earth, animals, plants, and humans. His love keeps on giving in "good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over". GOD asks us to do what He has already done; to follow Him.
What is the motive of GOD behind His giving? His motive is love, pure love. JESUS is calling us to give as His Father gives, with the same motive He has - love. When we give as GOD gives, He promises that blessings will flow from Him and through others. It does not make sense to withhold giving to others, because, this is what our Father has shown us by His example. He does not withhold and neither should we.
