THE RAPTURE

I Thessalonians 4: 16-18
For the LORD Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of GOD; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air; and so shall we ever be with the LORD. Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.

TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR

The LORD has planned things out so that the Children of GOD would not see the wrath of GOD.  We strongly believe that the wrath of GOD will come when the LORD puts His feet on the earth. Notice where the Church, the Body of believers in JESUS, meets the LORD; in the air. The LORD will gather His Church out of the world so that the Church will be saved from the wrath that is to come. The tribulation will not occur until the Church is home with Him; then the Church will be with Him at his return.

There are three signs of the rapture: the shout, the voice of the archangel (possibly Michael), and the sound of the trumpet of GOD.  We need to be awake and ready for the festal shout, the voice of the archangel saying, "come up here",and the blowing of the Shofar (the trumpet of GOD).

Be alert and stay in tune with the Gospel, be a good steward of the gift of life and breath, given to you by GOD and pray for others to be united with JESUS for ever.  The LORD GOD has provided the way for all to be saved from His wrath, walk in His path.

Tomorrow, I will look at Biblical examples of the rapture found in the Old and New Testament.

THE RAPTURE

I Thessalonians 4: 13-15
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that JESUS died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in JESUS will GOD bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the word of the LORD, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the LORD shall not prevent them which are asleep.

GOD WILL BRING WITH HIM

In the verses of I Thessalonians 14: 13 - 18, there are two distinct steps revealed that point to the rapture. One step is the resurrection of the dead and the second is the meeting of JESUS in the air - the rapture.
Verse 15 is very clear that the dead in Christ will arise first and those which are alive will meet JESUS.

Tomorrow, I will expound more on the "meeting in the air" and "coming to earth". They are very different and the Church will be with the LORD when He comes to the earth to judge the earth and the people with His truth.

I Thessalonians 4:13-18 hold a great hope for all those who have experienced the death of a loved one.  Notice that Paul uses the word "asleep" to characterize those who have died.  JESUS used that word when He looked upon a person He was going to raise from the dead.  Jarius' daughter is a great example.

Those who "sleep" in JESUS are raised in the same manner as JESUS.  The path that JESUS took, is the path that the Church will take: first the resurrection, then the gathering of the Church with JESUS. and then the return to earth to judge it.

Those who are asleep in JESUS will be gathered up with Him and will rule and reign with Him forever.

THE RAPTURE

Titus 2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great GOD and our Savior Jesus Christ.

Looking for that blessed hope...

There have been a great number if books written and theories purposed on when the rapture will  be a reality.  Some say that it will be before the tribulation, others say that it will occur in the middle of the great tribulation, and others say that it will be after the tribulation.  They call these theorists pre-trib., mid-trib., and post-trib teachers and preachers.  Each of the followers of these theories have good Scriptures to substantiate their position, so, to call them wrong would be wrong. When will the rapture come? It is held in the mind of GOD and will come when He says, "Now is the time for the Bride to arise and meet the Bridegroom in the air."

What are we to do in the meantime? "Look for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great GOD and our Savior Jesus Christ ". We are to be awake and vigilant, expecting, at any time, the call of GOD to "come up".

There is a difference between the rapture and the second coming of JESUS.  Scripture is very clear about this point and throughout the week, I will expound on this difference.  The Rapture will be the call for the Church to meet JESUS in the air; the second coming of JESUS, will be with the saints and JESUS will come to the earth. The Church is coming to JESUS in the rapture; the Church is with JESUS at the second coming.

LOOK UP, YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWS NEAR

THE BLESSINGS OF TRUST IN GOD

1 Chronicles 5: 20b
For they cried to GOD in the battle, and He was entreated by them, because they put their trust in Him.
Jeremiah 33: 3
Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

We close this week of Word from the Word with this word: the blessing of trust in the LORD is answered prayer.

We all want our prayers answered by GOD in a way that is good and full of grace, mercy and loving-kindness. Well, we can have that by putting out whole trust in the LORD; He will deliver, save, remove fear, give us safety, prosperity and peace. GOD is with us in battle; the victory is ours through Christ JESUS.

THOSE WHO TRUST IN GOD ARE THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL; VICTORS AND NOT VICTIMS; ABOVE AND NOT BENEATH; SAITH THE LORD.

BLESSINGS OF TRUST IN GOD

Isaiah 26: 3,4
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the LORD forever; for in the LORD GOD is everlasting strength.

A blessing of trust in GOD is perfect peace; peace in the midst of storms, struggles, chaos, trouble. Yes, GOD is in trouble; He is in the middle of all of our troubles, just like He was in the fire with Shradrach, Meshach, and Abednego and Daniel in the Lion's den.  The Holy presence of GOD brings peace which passes all understanding.

Notice the words, "whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee." This is the key to the way of the blessing of perfect peace; our mind must be stayed on JESUS and our trust must be in Him, the gift of peace follows. When you are afraid, trust JESUS and keep your mind on Him; do not look at the storm or you will sink into the darkness of despair. JESUS is the Light and in Him there is no darkness at all, keep your eye on JESUS and don't look away even for a moment.

TRUST YE IN THE LORD FOREVER; FOR IN THE LORD GOD IS EVERLASTING STRENGTH.

BLESSINGS OF TRUST IN GOD

Daniel 6: 25-28
Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: "Peace be multiplied unto you. I make a decree, that in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the GOD of Daniel; for He is the living GOD, and steadfast forever, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall be even unto the end. He delivereth, and rescueth, and He worketh signs and wonder in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions." So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus, the Persian.

After king Darius had thrown Daniel into the pit of hungry lions, Daniel's faith and steadfast trust in GOD, manifest with signs and wonders, turned the heart of Darius from evil to good.
Throughout the Scripture, steadfast trust in GOD is demonstrated by the conversion of others to the Way of the LORD. Daniel received deliverance and the blessing of peace; Darius received the testimony of the faithfulness of GOD and was converted; then Darius testified of the greatness of GOD and Cyrus was converted.  Daniel found favor and prospered in the reign of both Darius and Cyrus.

Trust in GOD is like a pebble in the pool; it has blessings for the faithful ones, and carries blessings for those who observe and are touched.  So it is with our life; when we trust in the LORD with all our heart, leaning not unto our own understandings, others will see and believe in the GOD whom we trust and be converted.

Stephen's trust in GOD opened the door for the conversion of Saul of Tarsus who became Paul the Apostle.
TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND SEE OTHERS COME TO CHRIST.

BLESSINGS OF TRUST IN GOD

III John 2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

One of the Blessings of GOD is that, when you put your trust in GOD you will prosper.  Prosperity is not just financial freedom, it is well-being of soul and body.  Good health is a sign of prosperity; a joyful heart in the midst of adversity is a clear sign of the prosperity of GOD.

Notice the first word of this verse, "beloved". The LORD GOD calls us, who trust in Him, His beloved.  Think about what that means to you. You are called the beloved of GOD, as a blessing issuing forth from the Throne of GOD; you are the blessed beloved. As I think about that phrase, I am filled with a new sense of the prosperity that come from trust in GOD.  A precious, new relationship begins to burst forth.

BLESSINGS OF TRUST IN GOD

Hebrews 2:12, 13
Saying, "I will declare Thy Name into my brethren, in the midst of the Church will I sing praise unto Thee." And again, "I will put my trust in Him." and again, "Behold I and the children whom GOD hath given me (will put trust in Him)."

One of the blessings of putting our trust in the LORD is an overflowing of joy and confidence.  Putting our trust in the LORD is not just a "one time" happening, it is repeated and a matter of the habit of the heart.
What is the "habit of the heart"? When a person does something often enough, it becomes a habit; therefore, if you trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do so repeatedly, it becomes a "habit of the heart".

Singing praises to GOD at all times; praying without ceasing; trusting in GOD, when practiced repeatedly, becomes a habit of the heart. No matter what circumstances surround you or inflict the mind, the habit of the heart will overcome the circumstances; bringing light into the darkness. Meditation on Holy Scripture will prepare the ground work for a habit of the heart that will strengthen the soul and please GOD.

Trust is total reliance and dependence on GOD. Trust does not work without the gift of Faith, which comes from GOD; in reverse, faith is blocked by lack of trust in GOD.

COME, OH GOD OF TRUTH, AND QUICKEN OUR FAITH, FOR WE PUT OUR TRUST IN YOU.

BLESSINGS OF TRUST IN GOD

Proverbs 29:25
The fear of man bringeth a snare; but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

We all desire to be safe and secure; hanging on for dear life is a normal reaction to trouble.  The fear of man is one of the traps of the enemy, and can cause a person to be led astray by public opinion. This is why "the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." There is only one wise counselor, the LORD GOD almighty, He knows all things and does not hide anything from those who trust Him. We are safe when we put our trust in the way and wisdom of GOD.

Where do you find this way and wisdom? Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean on His understanding; read and study Holy Scripture; pray without ceasing; listen to the wisdom of GOD coming from Him in a ram-ah word or the preaching of wise Pastors.

TRUST THE LORD AND HE WILL BRING YOU SAFELY TO HIS WAY.

BLESSING OF TRUST IN GOD

Psalm 112: 7, 8
He shall not be afraid of evil  tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in thee LORD. His heart is established; he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

THE FIXED HEART
In postings in the past, I have written on the fixed heart; a heart that is established in GOD. Yes, GOD wants us to be narrow-minded; our heart fixed on  GOD and Him alone.  He calls us back to the "first love", when we hear His call and say, "Here am I" He receives us to Himself and shelters us under His wings for safety.

The narrow way leads to life; the fixed heart leads to peace; trusting in the LORD leads to life. The enemy does not have any power over those who have a fixed heart, because they do not waver, being tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine.  The fixed heart is established in the truth of JESUS and the Gospel of truth. The fixed heart is in love with GOD and serves Him from that place of love.

I will share with you my desire for enemies: that they come to the saving knowledge of JESUS and feel His love in their heart, being transformed into His likeness and image.  Think about a world where everyone is born-again!!!!! Our enemies are really victims of the great enemy of GOD, Satan. Those poor victims are being tormented by the great enemy, but when they are converted, they become champions of GOD, saved by grace.  THINK ABOUT THE CONVERSION OF SAUL OF TARSUS! A tormented victim of Satan who became a champion for GOD.

FIX YOUR HEART ON THE FIRST LOVE- JESUS

BLESSINGS OF TRUST IN GOD

Psalm 17:7,8
Show thy marvelous loving-kindness, O Thou who savest by Thy right hand those who put their trust in Thee, from those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me under the shadow of Thy wings.

DELIVERANCE IS A BENEFIT AND BLESSING FOR THOSE WHO TRUST GOD

The LORD is loving-kindness, this is the essence of GOD. What He does, has an Eternal purpose; to bless, prosper and to bestow peace upon those who trust Him. The LORD GOD defends His family with the powerful right hand; saving those those trust Him. He keeps and hides under His wings all His children, so that the enemy can not find them.

The Right Hand of GOD is extended to all, and His name is JESUS. JESUS saves by lifting up those who are downtrodden and oppressed. Father GOD has extended His Right Hand to you; will you take it and hold on? He has withheld His Left Hand, which is judgement/wrath. He has held out His right hand of unconditional Love, will you take it and hold on?

TAKE HIS HAND, REACHING OUT TO YOU, AND HOLD ON FOR YOUR DEAR LIFE; JESUS  LOVES  YOU

BLESSINGS OF TRUST IN GOD

Psalm 34:22
The LORD redeemeth the soul of His servants; and none of them who trust in Him shall be desolate.

BENEFITS OF TRUST IN GOD

The number one benefit of putting your trust in GOD, is that your salvation is sure and you will never be left out in the cold, desolate.  Trusting in GOD, is your choice; GOD has provided for your redemption through the Blood of JESUS, now it is your choice as to whether you trust that. Do you believe that you are redeemed from destruction and that Father GOD is your Father? TRUST HIM NOW!!!!

The promises of GOD, for those who believe in JESUS, are yes and amen. Read the Word of the LORD and say, "yes and amen" to all the promises He has made; THEY BELONG TO YOU.

The benefit of trusting in GOD is the assurance of salvation through the shed Blood of JESUS.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of His servants; and none of them who trust in Him shall be desolate.

TRUST ISSUES

Psalm 84:12
O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man who trusteth in Thee.

Three reasons why people refuse to trust GOD
1. The fear of the unknown
2. Personal oppression - people who oppress people.
3.Demonic oppression

Antidote for lack of trust and oppression
1. Start praising
2. Start singing songs of glory
3. Play the sounds of GOD and fill your heart with heavenly music
4. Full your mind with Scripture

TRUST THE LORD TO KNOW

Luke 22: 31,32
And the LORD said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat; but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not. And when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

The "wheat" in this verse, was Simon's self-confidence. Self-confidence must yield to the LORD GOD and all trust be placed in Him. The attack of Satan on Simon was to destroy his faith, but JESUS prayed for him and his faith did not fail but his self-confidence was shattered. Faith comes from GOD, trust is our act and our choice. Belief and trust are twins, they work together, they are our choice; Faith is a direct gift from GOD.

Notice the words "when thou art converted". JESUS did not say "if" but He said "when" this means that JESUS already knew that there would be an ending to the "sifting" by Satan. In our life, we must trust that when we are sifted, that there will be an end to it.

Look at the word "converted". In the case of Simon, it was the end of self-confidence and the beginning of a totally yielded life. Conversion is a 180 degree turn around; Simon was a self-confident person and after being sifted by Satan, he became a humble, yielded servant of GOD. Simon was renamed by JESUS to be Peter and he strengthened his brethren.

Look at the keys here; Satan oppresses, JESUS intercedes, JESUS knows the end of the sifting, conversion is the result of the trial and the brethren are strengthened.

TRUST IN GOD FOR LIFE

2 Chronicles 20: 20b

Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem. "Believe in the LORD your GOD, so shall ye be established. Believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper"

Here these words of Jehoshaphat to the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, "BELIEVE GOD".
Jehoshaphat and his army were surrounded by the enemy, it looked like they were all going to fall by the sword. Their doom seemed sure, BUT GOD had another plan and His plan prevailed. Nothing happens without fitting into the plan of GOD.  He gives us opportunities to grow and to prosper; He has a plan that will give us evidence of His power and might, gentleness and love.

"Believe in the LORD your GOD so shall you be established." You will be established on the firm foundation of JESUS Christ the LORD, He is the Rock upon which you can place your trust.  You will be so established that your foot will not slip and whatsoever you do will prosper. This was certainly true of Jehoshaphat and his army as they sang and praised GOD, the enemy was defeated.

"Believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper." The LORD GOD has raised up prophets in every time to speak the word of the LORD to the people.  We call them Pastors and teachers who feed the flock of GOD with the good food of the Gospel of JESUS Christ.  When they preach the Gospel, according to the Scripture, we are to listen and learn, the LORD has promised to prosper us who listen to Him through His prophets. Prophets proclaim the Gospel of JESUS; they are inspired by the Scripture; they are accountable to GOD for what they teach.  GOD  wants the people to hear and receive good food, so that the seeds will grow and bear fruit to the glory of GOD.

ONLY BELIEVE AND YOU SHALL BE ESTABLISHED

IN GOD HAVE I PUT MY TRUST

Psalm 56:11
In GOD have I put my trust; I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

IN GOD WE TRUST

In GOD we Trust are words written on the great seals of our Nation and on our money; but do we put our trust in GOD? Trust in GOD takes action and determination on our part. If our life or our livelihood are threatened, do we trust GOD to provide?

TRUST IN GOD is the remedy for fear.  When the storms of rear overtake us and the winds of doubt threaten to shake us; we need to lift up our banner which says, I TRUST IN GOD.

JESUS lived the life of total trust in His Father, when the people He loved turned against Him, He trusted in His Father; when the Father could not look upon His Son because He was covered in the filth of our sin, JESUS trusted His Father.

Can we say in our heart, with JESUS, THOUGH HE SLAY ME, YET WILL I TRUST HIM? Can we sing in the storm the songs of the redeemed? Can we praise GOD for His goodness when all around is really bad?

I will say, I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. JESUS IS LORD!!!!

TRUST IN THE LIVING GODD

I Timothy 6:17-19
Charge them that are rich in this age, that the be not high-minded  nor trust in uncertain riches but in the Living GOD, Who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to share. Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

This is not works theology, it is a description of the kind of outpouring of the heart of GOD through His children.  GOD gives us riches, in order for us to help others, as His ambassadors. When things are given to us, they are on a journey to another person.; they have a tag, GIVEN IN JESUS NAME.

I have a friend in Alabama who has said to me, "all things are given into your hand, in order for you to take it to another hand, from Him"  "Nothing belongs to you, it belongs to the person for whom it is intended by GOD". Her wisdom is worth living. We must hold things loosely, so that the LORD can provide for those in need.

TRUST IN GOD ALWAYS

Psalm 71:1
In Thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be put to confusion.

One thing I know for sure, the LORD is never confused; we may be confused about some things, BUT GOD knows what is right and good.  He is never confused. I say this to reassure all who read this blog, that when you put all your trust in the LORD, the outcome will be according to the way and will of the LORD.

Confusion is from the devil; the whole universe was in confusion(chaos) before GOD said, "Let there be light, and there was light". When things look confusing to us, we must understand that it is the author of confusion, the devil, that is behind it.  Speak to the confusion, the Word of the LORD and in doing so bring light into the situation. Light brings peace and security, speak the Light into every dark place in life.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5)

TRUST IN GOD AT ALL TIMES

Psalm 34:8
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusteth in Him.

Many years ago, I did a banner for the Church on this verse. On the banner, I put a basket filled with fruit of all kinds; it said, "taste and see that the LORD is good". What I wanted to show in the banner is that when you taste of the goodness of the LORD, you are really eating the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, meekness, faith, and temperance.  The fruit of the Spirit is contained in the basket of the unconditional love of JESUS.

Tasting, is a  act of our will and desire.  The LORD is Good, His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures forever, BUT we have to take in to ourselves the goodness that GOD gives to us, freely  What I mean is this, that basket of fruit is pretty, but it tastes good only if you eat it.

Trust in GOD is the act of our will and desire. The reward of trusting in GOD is the blessing of peace.  We are secure in the shelter of the Almighty, if we taste of the goodness of GOD; one taste and you will yearn for more.

TRUST IN GOD AT ALL TIMES

Psalm 62:8
Trust in Him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before Him. GOD is a refuge for us. Selah!!!

SELAH - THINK ABOUT IT

The Psalmist is asking us to "think about" ponder and reflect on the meaning of the words, "Trust in Him at all times...; pour out your heart before Him. GOD is a refuge for us."

What does it mean to trust? It means, firm belief in GOD; total dependence on GOD Who is totally reliable.
Trust is a decision we make; faith is a gift from GOD; we exercise our faith through decisions of trust. There is a step wise progression which leads to great faith: first we believe that GOD is and is able to to be trusted; second, GOD is trustworthy and we put our whole self in a dependent relationship with Him; third, our faith, which re receive from GOD, is strengthened through experience.

TRUST IS OUR DECISION; FAITH IS A GIFT FROM GOD

COMFORT GUIDANCE

Psalm 23: 4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

A shadow can only frighten, it can not hurt or harm. The Light of Christ obliterates the shadows and exposes the realities.  The "valley of the shadow of death" is only shadow, it is not reality; JESUS, the Light is the only reality; therefore, "fear no evil" JESUS is with thee. JESUS is in the storm, saying, Peace be still; JESUS is in the midst of the fire saying, "you shall not be burned"; JESUS is in the midst of the flood saying, You will not drown.  Believe JESUS.

The rod and the staff are instruments used by shepherds.  The rod is for protection and discipline; the staff is for guidance and rescue.  With the protection and discipline of JESUS, the Great Shepherd, and with the guidance and redemption by the Blood of JESUS, we are totally secure in His presence.  He will correct us when we are in trouble; He will hold us when we need His comfort.  He is everything we need, when we need Him.

FEAR NOT, LITTLE FLOCK, IT IS THE GOOD PLEASURE OF JESUS TO GIVE YOU THE KINGDOM.

COMFORT OF THE SCRIPTURE

Romans 15: 4 - 7
For whatever things were written in earlier times were written for our learning, that we, through patience and comfort of the Scriptures, might have hope. Now the GOD of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another according to Christ JESUS, that ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify GOD, even the Father of our LORD JESUS Christ. Wherefore, receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of GOD.

WOW!!!!! The Holy Scripture was written for our learning, so that we would become hopeful, patient, and comforted by GOD.  When we are in that state of hopefulness, patience and comfort we can be like-minded and be in one body, peacefully. When we are like-minded, peaceful, hopeful and comforted, we are strong enough to receive one another as Christ receives us to the glory of GOD.

Think of a baby: when they are fed, dry and held in love, they fall asleep; they are at peace. Thus it is with us, when we are fed with the Scripture, dried out from the worries and concerns of life, and held in the arms of JESUS we are at rest and we sleep, peacefully.
THE SCRIPTURE IS OUR COMFORT

COMFORTABLE WORDS

I Thessalonians 4: 13;15; 18
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them who are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others who have no hope... For this we say unto you, by the Word of the LORD, that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the LORD shall not precede them who are asleep...Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.

WORDS OF COMFORT
The LORD would not have us ignorant about those who have died; they are with the LORD in glory.  They slept in the arms of JESUS and remain there with Him; a GREAT CLOUD OF WITNESSES.

Some will want to say, this person or that person is with the LORD; but I say to you that we are not the judge about the relationship between a person and GOD; therefore, we state what we pray, "those who have died are safe in the arms of JESUS for all eternity". We who are alive have work to do to glorify GOD while we are given breath. Those who have died are now with the Holy One in glory, they are Holy witnesses, we have souls to bring to Christ; their work is finished, our work continues.

The Words of Comfort to all who mourn over a loved one who has died, is that they ran their course, now you run yours. GET IN YOUR BOOTS MEN there is the Work of GOD to be done, MOUNT UP ON EAGLES WINGS AND SOAR.

TRUE COMFORT

2 Corinthians 1: 3, 4
Blessed be GOD, even the Father of our LORD JESUS Christ, the Father of mercies, and the GOD of all comfort, Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them who are in any trouble, by the comfort with which wee ourselves are comforted of GOD.

True comfort comes from GOD, the Father, through JESUS and by the Holy Spirit: the Holy Spirit is called the Comforter whom JESUS sent. The Holy Trinity is involved in the comfort of all those who suffer any kind of tribulation. You can't get anything better than the comfort of the Holy One.

What does "comfort" mean? It means encouragement; pulling along side another; to strengthen and to console.  True comfort means to encourage with the Word of JESUS; pull along side another in the Name of JESUS, giving a cup of water to a thirsty soul in the Name of JESUS; strengthen another with the Word of JESUS.

In Prescott, Arizona there are many families who are in deep mourning over the death of 19 Hot- shot fire fighters. Sometimes, there are not words to say to a hurting soul, but the presence of GOD in the life of a Christian does more than a 1000 words.  Practice being present to another person.

Pastor Randy told a story of a neighbor child whose friend had just died.  She asked her mother if she could go next door to be with the mother of the friend.  When she came home, after an hour, her mother asked what she had said, she replied, "I just crawled up in her lap and we cried together".  This is JESUS comforting those who mourn with comfort without words. That child gave the gift of "beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness" All she did was hug and cry with the mother. This is the GOD of all comfort; comforting those who mourn.

Comfort ( com forte) means "with strength" so we impart strength to another when we give comfort in the time of trouble. The Comforter is the Holy Spirit of GOD working through a person.

EXAMINE YOUR SELF

I Corinthians 11: 28; 31
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

I heard a person admit that they could not think of anything to confess to GOD and ask His forgiveness.  I shuttered to think how much I had to ask GOD to forgive. Then I remembered the story of the Pharisee and the Publican; the publican could not even lift his head but prayed "GOD be merciful to me a sinner". We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD, therefore we have much to confess to GOD and ask for His forgiveness. The verse in Luke 18:14 says, " He that humbleth himself shall be exalted."

I read a quote that really stuck with me, "Read the Scripture until the Scripture reads you." As I read the Scripture, the Love of JESUS for me brings me to my knees, as I experience the Grace of GOD pouring over my soul. As I remember the mercy of GOD, and let that realization sink deep into my heart, I realize that my love and mercy fall very short of the love and mercy of the LORD. Yet GOD in His Mercy and Love redeemed me by His Body and Blood. I am brought to my knees in adoration of Him.

When we receive the Body and Blood of JESUS in Holy Communion, we receive in our body the Holiness, love and mercy  of JESUS. It is in awe and respect that we take in our hand the precious gift, given by JESUS.
THANKS BE TO GOD

WORTHY OF COMMUNION WITH THE LORD

I Corinthians 11:27
Therefore, whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the LORD, unworthily, shall be guilty of the Body and Blood of the LORD.

These are very hard words to hear, and yet they are given to us in great love. The LORD does not want anyone to perish, so He will give hard words as a caution.

What does "unworthily" mean? It means without respect, honor and high regard for the precious Body and Blood of JESUS. The LORD is cautioning us not to be flippant or casual about partaking of the Holy presence of JESUS.  We are to approach the Holy Communion with a heart of Love for all that JESUS has done for us all; a heart of thanksgiving.

Communion is a time to remember the great, willing sacrifice of JESUS for the Salvation of the world; it is also to remember that He is coming again for His Bride, the Church. When we remember, we are to a give thanks, glorify GOD, respect His Presence and Honor Him with the honor due His name.

We are not worthy in ourselves, but the Blood of JESUS cleanses us from all unrighteousness and makes us worthy to stand before Him, clean and spotless. THANKS BE TO GOD WHO WASHES US CLEAN AND MAKES US WORTHY TO BE AT HIS TABLE.

PRAY FIRST

The Acts 1: 24, 25
And they prayed, and said, "Thou LORD, who knowest the hearts of all men, show which of these two Thou hast chosen, that he may take part in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas, by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place."

The choice Judas made, in betraying JESUS, the Christ, cost him his life, eternal life, ministry and his ordination as an Apostle of JESUS. Judas chose to over-ride the plan of GOD by his own plan, which was based in greed.  His choices led him to "his own place" which he chose, to live there forever.

This is a horrible end to the life of Judas and a great sorrow for JESUS.  This is the consequence for wrong choices. This is why it is so important for all of us to repent of the transgression of wrong choices and wrong words. To maintain that you are right when you are very wrong, means separation from GOD; and yet, if you repent, you are immediately restored to fellowship with GOD.  Judas did not repent, instead, he hung himself.

Notice the context of the prayer in Acts. The Apostles had to choose between two men to fill the slot of Judas, they prayed first for GOD to choose the replacement. In all of our life, the sound way to choose anything is to pray, "LORD, Thou knowest the hearts of all men, show which of these Thou hast chosen." The LORD has a plan and that plan includes us, since He sees all things, His choices are 100% correct.
So, choose according to the foreknowledge of GOD, through preventative prayer.

POWER OVER DARKNESS

John 22: 52, 53
Then JESUS said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, who were come to Him, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and clubs? When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against Me; but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

What did JESUS mean by "your hour". If you understand, that all time is in the hand of GOD and that He, who is timeless, controls all time; then you can understand that JESUS was identifying who was attempting to control time.  The chief priests, elders and captains were trying to control GOD, JESUS is GOD. They were trying to make things happen in their agenda, so that the rituals of the Temple would not be interrupted by an issue, like the execution of JESUS.  This was Passover and they wanted to get things accomplished before the feast of Passover, when they would be very busy in the Temple. The timing of events had to be just right so that they could go back to their duties. This had to fit their agenda; their hour.

What did JESUS mean by the words, "your hour and the power of darkness" JESUS identified who was behind all these happenings; the violence, the anger, the betrayal.  He identified that it was satan, the power of darkness, that was  behind all the goings on. Yes, it was the devil who was trying to defeat the Son of the Most high GOD. The devil was using willing people for his agenda;his time.  What satan did not know is that the Son of the Most High GOD would willingly lay down His Holy Life for the salvation of all mankind and by His Blood, defeat the devil for all time.

It was the devil's time and the power of darkness, but it was short lived, because, when JESUS cried with a loud voice, It is finished the devil was finished forever, defeated and destroyed.

JESUS laid down His life, so that all who come to Him would be saved. JESUS paid the price of the redemption of the world. The devil is done-for. THANKS BE TO GOD

GLORY REVEALED

2 Chronicles 5: 14b, 15
(They) praised the LORD, saying, "For He is good; for His mercy endureth forever" - that the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD. So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of GOD.

"At he Name of JESUS, every knee shall bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue confess that JESUS Christ is LORD to the glory of GOD the Father" Yes, this is what happened in the time of King Solomon and this is what happened when JESUS said "I AM HE" EVERY KNEE BOWED. Nothing can stand in the presence of GOD; He is Holy and Almighty, powerful and merciful.

The Glory and mercy of JESUS is seen vividly in the moment when JESUS had just been betrayed by Judas with a kiss; Peter took up a sword to defend JESUS and cut off the ear of the High Priest's servant. What did JESUS do? HE HEALED THE EAR - Glory and mercy.(Luke  22: 51).

This is the humility of JESUS; on one hand He is King of Kings and LORD of LORDS with all authority in heaven and on earth, on the other hand, He heals the ear of a lowly servant.- GLORY AND MERCY.

MAY THE CLOUD OF THE GLORY OF GOD FILL YOUR HOUSE AND HIS MERCY TOUCH EVERY PART THAT NEEDS HEALING

I AM THAT I AM

John 18:8
JESUS answered, I have told you that I AM HE; if, therefore, ye seek me, let these go their way.

I AM HE

JESUS used the Holy Name when He addressed the crowd of violent men.  In verse 6, we find that when He used the Holy Name, I AM, they fell down to the ground. Three times, JESUS uses the Words, I AM HE, He did not run from the violent men and the betrayer, Judas; instead, He faced the crowd with the power of GOD.

JESUS knew who He was and from Whom He came and the mission that He was to fulfill.  He had the choice to stand or run HE STOOD FIRM.  We, too, have the choice to stand in the power of the Holy Spirit, face the violence of the unregenerate world, or to run away.  When we stand, we are to stand in the full armor of GOD (Ephesians 6:11-17).

We have been given the authority, by JESUS Christ, to stand against wickedness and declare, in the Holy Name of JESUS, that the plans of the enemy be cancelled. We have the ministry of reconciliation and love, given to us by GOD, we are to use this ministry to bring all souls to Christ, especially those in most need of His mercy.

WHOM DO YOU SEEK?
I SEEK THE I AM (EYEH, ASHER, EYEH), WHO IS GOD ALMIGHTY, MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH.

WHOM SEEK YE?

John 18: 4-6
JESUS, therefore, knowing all things that should come upon Him, went forth, and said unto them, WHOM SEEK YE? They answered Him, "JESUS of Nazareth", JESUS saith unto them, I AM HE. And Judas also, who stood betrayed Him, stood with them. As soon, then, as He had said unto them, I AM HE, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

JESUS, in another place, asked Peter, Who do you say that I AM? This is a question that we all must answer in our heart, unto the LORD. Peter said, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living GOD." What is your confession?

Judas looked at JESUS as a man with a potential for greatness and so he followed JESUS for what he would achieve as the follower of this man.  If JESUS was looking for power on this earth, Judas would rise to power on the "coat-tails", after all, Judas had the moneybags for the ministry. Judas was a greedy manipulator, who thought that he could manipulate situations to force JESUS to take the reigns of power.

The question remains, Whom seek ye? Are you seeking status by your association with JESUS? or are you seeking the LORD of life, JESUS the author and finisher of faith and life. Are you seeking JESUS for what you get? or are you seeking JESUS for who He is?

THOU ART THE CHRIST THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD; YOU ARE WORTHY OF ALL PRAISE AND THANKS.

THE JUDAS SYNDROME - ULTIMATE ANTIDOTE

Romans 3: 23-25
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ JESUS. Whom GOD hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His Blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of GOD.

THE ULTIMATE ANTIDOTE TO THE JUDAS SYNDROME IS THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

Judas was inflicted with the sin of greed. He lived a greedy life, worthy of death, and yet JESUS gave him every chance to change; this is the grace of GOD manifest.  Every opportunity was afforded to a greedy, selfish Judas to become one with the LORD GOD; and yet he refused.

Greed, pride, lust, envy, bitterness, anger, covetousness and gluttony are deadly sins; JESUS gives us all every opportunity to receive forgiveness and be cleansed from all unrighteousness.  He gives us time to be bathed in the Blood of JESUS and be made whole. What do we need to do?

HAVE FAITH IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS; RECEIVE HIS FORGIVENESS AND BE HIS WITNESS IN THE WORLD. LOVE LEAD JESUS TO CALVARY; BE A WITNESS OF LOVE IN THIS WORLD

THE JUDAS SYNDROME - ANTIDOTE

John 13: 3-5
JESUS, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He was come from GOD, and went to GOD; He riseth from supper, and laid aside His garments, and took a towel, and girded Himself. After that He poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.

WASHING THE FEET OF OTHERS IS THE ANTIDOTE TO THE JUDAS SYNDROME.

JESUS knew who He was and whose He was; He was/is the Son of GOD and He was/is master of all. There is no one higher than JESUS or with more authority, and yet He stripped Himself of all the garments of the flesh and lowered Himself below His disciples. HE WASHED THEIR FEET!!

The Judas syndrome inspires pride and self exaltation; JESUS inspires humility. It takes a lot of LOVE to humble oneself below another, naked and vulnerable; yet that is just what JESUS did. It is this type of humility and love that the devil can not copy.  The Judas syndrome inspires lust and greed; pride and self-centeredness. The antidote to the disease of the Judas syndrome is UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

THE JUDAS SYNDROME - ANTIDOTE

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS.

There is a battle going on in the mind; the devil is fighting to get your attention and he does it through thoughts. You have control over your thought life, so defeat the Judas syndrome by controlling your thoughts. Think on the things of GOD and meditate on Him day and night, then there will be no room for the devil to contaminate your thoughts and tempt you to sin.

Pastor had a great quote on Sunday: "Satan cannot make you sin, he can only suggest." watch out for the suggestions of the enemy!!!!!

Think on the things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy. Think on the things found in Holy Scripture and stand on the Word of the LORD; giving glory to JESUS.

THE ANTIDOTE FOR THE JUDAS SYNDROME IS THE GOD - PILL. THE GOSPEL WILL DEFEAT SATAN AT EVERY TURN.

THE JUDAS SYNDROME - ANTIDOTE

I Timothy 6:11b, 12
Follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, unto which thou art also called and hast professed a profession before many witnesses.

The antidote to the Judas syndrome is devout living.  A life of righteousness, which is a " comprehensive name for all the fruit of the Spirit." (Wycliffe Commentary, pg. 1380); a life of godliness, being a reflection of the nature of JESUS; a life of faith, being faithful to the LORD and to His call in your life; a life of love, unconditional and merciful love; and a life of meekness, which is true humility.

The hardest time for us to resist the devil is when we feel abandoned and alone. But the truth is that we are never alone and never abandoned by GOD. He is faithful to all His children. So, fight the good fight of faith, not wavering or doubting. The LORD, whom you profess will never leave you of forsake you, He is with you in the fire and in the storm. The devil can not defeat the power of GOD.

STAND FIRM IN THE FAITH

THE JUDAS SYNDROME - ANTIDOTE

Deuteronomy 6: 5-9
and thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

The antidote to the Judas syndrome is total devotion to the LORD GOD and Him only do you serve. Notice that the word "Heart" is used twice: with the heart and in the heart.  The only motive for life and living is found in the LORD GOD, but He must be in your heart and with the heart, He works through you.

These verses call us to teach, talk, walk, lie down, sit, bind and write the command of GOD to all people and in every manner of life. This takes great devotion and constant focus. When a person is devoted to GOD and focused on GOD alone, there is no room for any other thoughts or idols.
Could it be said that this is the formula for righteousness?  Could it be said that this is the antidote for greed and for all manner of evil?

Where is your focus, today? I suggest that you do a focus check and clear your mind and heart of anything that is not the LORD GOD. Purge the thoughts of your heart by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and fill your mind and heart with the awesome wonder of redemption by our LORD JESUS Christ. Then speak about Him to everyone; if JESUS is really your focus, everything and all thoughts, words and deeds with reflect Him.

THE JUDAS SYNDROME

1 Timothy 6: 10, 11
For the love of money is the root of all evil, which, while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of GOD, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness.

The Judas syndrome is well spelled out in these verses: "the love of money is the root of all evil." This behavior is in direct contrast to the commandment which says: "You shall Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind". ALL leaves no room for any other love. The love of money, or wealth or reputation, or things or people, must give way to the first love. Who is the first love? GOD the Father, GOD the Son and GOD the Holy Spirit. You must love Him first.

Judas loved himself first and sought to raise himself up in the ranks of the people in power.  He used JESUS and then he used the religious people. You have probably heard the phrase, "use things; not people." Well Judas used people for his own benefit. He loved himself more than the Son of GOD.

The Scripture says, " flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness faith, love, patience and meekness". This is the antidote to the Judas syndrome.

LOVE THE LORD, YOUR GOD, WITH ALL YOUR HEART, SOUL MIND AND MIGHT AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOUR SELF.

THE JUDAS SYNDROME

Mark 14: 42,43
Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand. And immediately, while He yet spoke, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude.

Who is Judas Iscariot?

Judas was chosen to be a follower of JESUS, by JESUS. He was counted as one of the twelve closest friends. Judas saw JESUS heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, show compassion to the weak; he heard the wisdom teachings of JESUS and lived with Him for 3 years. Judas probably preached the kingdom of GOD and cast out demons, healed the sick and prayed for miracles. He was so trusted that he was over the treasury for the ministry of JESUS. SO WHAT HAPPENED? Greed happened. Judas became greedy.

All along, JESUS knew who would betray Him, yet He gave Judas the opportunity to repent. He had hope that Judas would be saved. JESUS showed Judas grace and unconditional love. He gave Judas every opportunity to confess his sin and repent of his ways.

This is an example of how much JESUS loves us. He will always give us every opportunity to come to Him and embrace Him with love. GOD so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

When JESUS said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" is it possible that JESUS was remembering Judas and interceding for him to the Father?

Who has hurt you? INTERCEDE FOR THEM WITH THE LOVE OF JESUS.

DIFFERENT, DETERMINED, DELIVERED - DEVOUT

Psalm 115: 13-15
He will bless those who fear the LORD, both small and great. The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Ye are blessed by the LORD who made heaven and earth.

Those who are devoted to GOD, stand in awe of Him. They praise Him for Who He is, not for what He does; they expect to see the LORD moving in a mighty way to create beauty. The way of the LORD is unique to every situation, thus we must keep watching and waiting, to see what He will do.  Too many people try to manipulate the LORD into doing what they would like to see happen; the LORD sees the highest and the best, He knows the way to the very best; follow Him and see the manifestation of the blessed life.

Devotion to GOD is reflected in the stability of the spirit.  Those who are devout, do not waver nor are tossed to and fro by every whim or wind. The devout will stand in the LORD, not allowing circumstances to dictate their actions. The devout, serve the LORD GOD and no other. The devout do not serve themselves, they serve the LORD and others.

The devout soul is different, determined and delivered; their heart is fixed on the LORD, Whom they love.
BE DEVOUT, DETERMINED, DIFFERENT AND YOU WILL BE BLESSED AND DELIVERED.

DIFFERENT, DETERMINED, DELIVERED

Psalm 66: 12
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water, but Thou brought us into a wealthy place.

Deliverance takes on many different forms; some are obvious release from bondage, some are deliverance from demons; some are seeing the Light at the end of a long dark tunnel. This verse from the Psalms is like coming through heavy trial and trouble, being delivered from darkness into light.

Notice the last part of this verse, "But Thou brought us into a wealthy place". The end of all trouble and trial brings the understanding that the LORD GOD has been along side, in the trouble and trial, and He has brought us into a wealthy place.  We are never alone, GOD is at our side, present at all times and standing in the fire with us.  When we praise Him and worship Him, He brings us through the trouble into a wealthy place, a place of prosperity.

JESUS IS THE WAY THROUGH THE TROUBLE, ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS FOLLOW HIM.

DIFFERENT, DETERMINED AND DELIVERED

Isaiah 43: 1, 2
But now, thus saith the LORD who created thee, and He who formed thee, "Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by the name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee".

This is the promise of GOD that nothing can defeat the child of GOD, so, FEAR NOT.

The part of verse 2 that refers to the fire, is a direct reference to the account in the Book of Daniel about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. When they were thrown into the fire, there was a 4th man walking with them; they were not burned and their clothes didn't even smell of smoke.

From the beginning of time, GOD has promised not to leave His Children; He is Father Almighty, Creator GOD.  Nothing can harm the children of the Most High.

FEAR NOT, LITTLE FLOCK, IT IS GOD'S PLEASURE TO GIVE YOU THE KINGDOM.

DIFFERENT, DETERMINED, DELIVERED

Psalm 71:14
But I will hope continually, and will praise Thee more and more.

These are the words of a soul that is determined to serve the LORD and worship Him, no matter what the conditions.  External conditions should not effect the praise of the Living GOD Who has made all thing work together for our good.

When we meditate on the goodness of the LORD and center our attention on the great love that He has for us, we can not stop from giving praise to Him for all that He has done.  This is a different reaction to circumstances than the reaction of the crowd of skeptics. Skeptics will see the circumstances of life and evaluate those events as being either a plus or a minus; those who trust the Lord will see that all things work together for our good.

The fire of adverse circumstances can not destroy the fire of the Holy Spirit, Who forever gives praise to the Living GOD. JOIN HIM IN PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING

DIFFERENT, DETERMINED AND DELIVERED

1 Chronicles 1621, 22
He suffered no man to do them wrong; yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, saying "touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm".

An example of this verse from 1 Chronicles is the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the Book of Daniel. King Nebuchadnezzar had built an idol of gold and commanded that all the people bow down to that idol or be thrown into the fiery furnace.  Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow to the idol, they believed in the One true and only GOD and served Him only. Even when everyone was bowing down to the idol, these three men stood firm and refused.  They were thrown into the furnace, which had been stoked seven times hotter. In the furnace was seen a 4th man (the Son of GOD) and when the young men came out of the furnace, they were not singed nor smelled of smoke.

The LORD GOD reproved Kings for the sake of the faithful young men. The LORD GOD stood in the fire with the young men, protecting them from harm.

These young men were different from the rest of the people; they were determined to serve the LORD GOD and, for their faithfulness, they were delivered from the fire of the furnace. These men were devoted to GOD in their heart, soul, mind, and with all their might they said, " I will trust the LORD".

When the LORD GOD anoints a child of His, He will protect and "reprove kings for their sake". Say in your heart, Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him

DIFFERENT, DETERMINED AND DELIVERED

Daniel 3: 1-30
Read in any translation of the Holy Scripture.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were young men who believed in GOD. They knew that they could not bow down to any other god or serve another god; this would offend the One True and living GOD.

King Nebuchadnezzar had built a golden statue so tall that it out reached all the other gods of the people; he was proud of his great reign as king and wanted the acclaim be given for his greatness.  It was decreed that when the great band of the King would blow, all the people would bow down to the image. If they didn't bow down, they would die in the fire.  Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow to the image; they stood tall, while the other people bowed down.  These men were filled with the Holy Spirit and with the fire of the LORD.

When the King heard about it, he decreed that the three men be thrown into the furnace, which had been heated seven times hotter.  The men were bound and thrown into the fire with all their clothes on.  These three men did not fear the fire, but praised the LORD. The fire was so hot, that the men who threw Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into the furnace were killed by the flames; YET, the three men were not harmed by the fire.

When Nebuchadnezzar looked into the furnace, he saw four men, not three and he was astounded. The fourth Man was like the Son of GOD. This miracle turned the kings heart and the three men where called forth from the furnace; unburned and even their cloths were not smelling of fire.  It seems that the only thing that was burned were the shackles and bands; the three men were free from their bondage. The king rewarded them with honor and wealth.

These men were different from all the other people; they were determined to serve the One True GOD only; and they were delivered from all their bondage.

The message for us is: stand firm for the Way of the LORD and be different from all others who will stray. Stand firm for what is right and righteous in the sight of the LORD and you will be delivered from the fiery darts of the enemy.

THOUGH HE SLAY ME, YET WILL I TRUST HIM. (Job 13:15)

PRACTICE PREVENTATIVE PRAYER

Psalm 91:1
He who dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Notice the key words, "abide" and "dwelleth"; these two words signify "living" or occupying.  To practice preventative prayer, you have to dwell in the presence of the LORD all the days of your life, and live in the shadow of the Almighty.  No harm can come to the person who is abiding and dwelling in the presence of GOD, they are safe and secure from all the onslaughts of the enemy. GOD is the shield and protector of those who are living under His wings.

Prayer is the doorway into the presence of GOD; prayer unlocks the secret place of the Most High. Pray without ceasing and place yourself in the shadow of the Almighty; JESUS prepared the place for you, go to Him and through Him to the Holy Place and rest in the arms of His love.

BECAUSE HE HATH SET HIS LOVE UPON ME, THEREFORE WILL I DELIVER HIM; I WILL SET HIM ON HIGH, BECAUSE HE HAS KNOWN MY NAME. (Psalm 91: 14)

PRACTICE PREVENTATIVE PRAYER

Luke 18: 1, and 8b

And He spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint...Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?

The parable that JESUS taught was about a widow who came before a hard hearted Judge. She was so persistent in her bid for justice, that the judge granted her request due to her persistence.  When we pray, and know that our prayers are according to the Scripture and the will of GOD, then we must pray in faith believing that we have what we pray.  DON'T GIVE UP, GOD IS IN CONTROL.

The underlined portion of verse 8 is important to remember; "When the Son of Man cometh, will He find faith on the earth?" In what or whom do have faith? anything or anyone other than GOD is misplaced faith.  Faith in people will leave you empty and alone; faith in objects will leave you desolate; FAITH IN JESUS WILL BRING ABUNDANT GRACE AND GOOD.

Faith, means that you will be watching and praying when the Son of man cometh. Remember the ten virgins; 5  were wise and 5 foolish. The foolish did not watch and pray, keeping the oil in their lamps full and the lamp burning; the wise watched and prayed, keeping the oil in their lamp burning and the lamp clean. Be ready for the return of JESUS; WATCH AND PRAY LEST AT ANY TIME YOU FALL INTO TEMPTATION.

PRACTICE PREVENTATIVE PRAYER

Mark 14: 38
Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

I am reminded of the incident in the life of Esau and Jacob, when Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of soup. Esau was so hungry that he gave up his heritage for something to please the flesh; his flesh was weak.

Jesus had fasted in the wilderness for 40 days, when the tempter came and tempted Him to turn stones into bread, but JESUS resisted the Devil and stood on the Word of GOD; "Man shall not live by bread alone, but every word that proceeds from the mouth of GOD." The flesh of JESUS was weak, but His Spirit was strong.

When we practice preventative prayer; not one time, but daily. When we focus on the LORD GOD and His Word, we are watching.  I find that the time of quiet meditation PRAYER on the Word of the LORD builds strength in my spirit, so that I can resist the temptations of the flesh.

IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM AND HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATH

PRACTICE PREVENTATIVE PRAYER

1 Peter 3: 12
For the eyes of the LORD are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the LORD is against them that do evil.

Notice in the verse that is quoted, that the LORD is ever present; not only to the righteous, but the evil doers also. To "practice preventative prayer" you must practice the presence of GOD.  Are you alert to the manifest presence of the Almighty GOD?  By the Holy Spirit, GOD is present at all times to all people, but all people do not acknowledge Him.

Think about how you would change your thinking and acting if you really understood that GOD was standing there listening and looking. Think about how you would pray, knowing hat He was listening to the real need of your heart. Would He be delighted with your thoughts? Would your praises make His heart sing?

I pray that the LORD will smile upon you and that your heart will rejoice and be glad in Him.

PRACTICE PREVENTATIVE PRAYER

Mark 14:39
And again He went away, and prayed, and spoke the same words.

It has been said that asking again and again the same words, is a lack of faith; well, if JESUS asked three times for the cup to pass from Him, using the same words, well I guess it is alright for us to do the same. JESUS is the personification of faith; He had great faith in His Father, yet He asked three times for help.

Paul asked repeatedly for the thorn to be removed from His flesh, yet it was not removed; still he asked.

Then there was the Greek Syrophenician woman who asked for healing of her daughter from unclean spirits. She asked and was rebuked, so she asked again for JESUS to heal her daughter, saying, "Yes LORD; yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs" JESUS healed her daughter because of the  woman's persistence.

JESUS says, "Ask and you will receive, seek and  you will find, knock and the door will be open to you." This is persistence to ask, seek and knock; it is a sign of fervor and passion. Don't give up on GOD! Don't give up on prayer! DON'T GIVE UP.

EXERCISE YOUR FAITH MUSCLES AND WATCH THEM STRENGTHEN - BE PERSISTENT.

PRACTICE PREVENTATIVE PRAYER

  Luke 11: 1b-4
One of His disciples said unto Him, LORD, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And He said unto them, "When ye pray, say, 'Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. and forgive us our sins; for we also forgive everyone that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil."

PRAYER PREVENTS PROBLEMS

Problems and circumstances will come into our life, but GOD is in charge of the outcome.  To plug into the solution, before the problem manifests itself, begin each day with the prayer JESUS taught His disciples. When we are in prayer to the Father, confessing that He is Holy GOD and submitting to His will, then the enemy of our soul can not prevail against the will and work of GOD.

When we have matured in the discipline of prayer, we find that our life becomes prayer. Therefore, pray until your very breath is prayer to GOD. Forgive, immediately, the sins of others and our self. Don't carry offenses around like a heavy weight, be free of offenses and free to soar with the eagles. Do not fear anything or the faces of anyone, walk in the light of Christ, knowing that His will will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

At all times: PRACTICE PREVENTATIVE PRAYER

THE GREAT HIGH PRIEST

Hebrews 5: 8-10
Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him. Called of GOD an High Priest after the order of Melchizedek.

JESUS LEARNED THROUGH OBEDIENCE

While JESUS was in the flesh, He learned and was tried in every way that every human being will be tried and will learn. "though He were a Son, yet He learned"  This is vitally important to all of us. JESUS knows everything we go through in life, so we can ask Him what to do and He knows how we feel and how to live. It is only the person who has walked the walk, that can say, "I know how you feel." JESUS walked the walk and can say to all of us, "I know how you feel and this is what you do." Walk in My way.

It is interesting that the testing of JESUS was in the area of obedience. Throughout all of His life, he was tried and tested in this area.  We, too, will be tested and tried in this area; being given the opportunity to grow closer to GOD through the struggles of being obedient to GOD, rather than submitting to the will of the flesh.  Look at your life and see how GOD has given you the opportunity to be obedient to Him. The choice is always yours; submit to GOD or the flesh - life or death.

The opportunities to choose to whom you will submit yourself, will build up spiritual muscle or tear it down. If you choose to submit to GOD and be obedient to Him, you will gain strength; if you submit to the flesh, you will grow weaker.  This one thing I know, if you make the wrong choice, you will have another opportunity to choose the right path.  The Love of GOD will continue to assist you to grow in Him and be made perfect through the lessons learned by way of obedience.

JESUS learned, and He knows what you are going through; He is your great High Priest Who loves you with the passion of GOD.

THE GREAT HIGH PRIEST

Hebrews 5: 5-9
So also Christ glorified not Himself to be made an high Priest, but He that said unto Him, "Thou art My Son, today have I begotten Thee". As He saith also in another place, "Thou art a Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek"; Who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that He feared, though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; and being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him.

OBEDIENCE LEADS TO SALVATION

The obedience of JESUS, made it possible for us to be saved from the wrath of GOD. It was the great love of the Great High Priest, JESUS, that lead Him to Calvary and the agony of the cross. JESUS glorified not Himself, He spent his life glorifying His Father (read John 17).

JESUS is calling us to a life of obedience to Him and His Word; obedience will cause a break in the relationship with the World the flesh and the devil. Obedience will cause suffering and separation from the world the flesh and the devil, but it is a passage to a life filled with endless joy and union with GOD. Yes, it is worth it. Remember the Gethsemane cry: "Nevertheless, not my will but Thy will be done".

BE OBEDIENT TO THE WORD OF GOD AND FIND THE JOY OF ETERNAL SALVATION; SEALED WITH THE BLOOD OF JESUS

GETHSEMANE CRY

1 Peter 2:24
Who His own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.

The cry of agony in the garden of Gethsemane, resounds through out the universe as a cry from the deep place in the heart of JESUS. JESUS loved His Father so much that even the thought of being separated from Him, was more than JESUS could take. JESUS knew that the Father could not look on sin and JESUS had to bear all the sins of the world and nail them to the cross.

We would not have life, unless JESUS had carried our sins and nailed them to the cross, killing them. JESUS was the pascal Lamb slain for us, so that we would not die, but have eternal life with Him. It is by the stripes of JESUS that we are healed and made whole, to worship GOD in Spirit and in truth.

BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS, WE ARE RECONCILED TO GOD.

GETHSEMANE CRY

Mark 14: 32-36
And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He saith to His disciples, "sit ye here, while I shall pray". And He took with Him Peter, James and John, and began to be greatly amazed, and to be very heavy; and saith unto them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful unto death; tarry ye here and watch." And He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee, Take away this cup from me; Neverthless, not what I will, but what Thou wilt."

THE AGONY OF JESUS

"Thy will be done, no greater words than these can pass from human lips; than these which rent there way through agony and bloody sweat; and broke the silence of Gethsamane, to save the world from sin" (Words by Studdard Kennedy).

What was in the cup that JESUS, in His flesh, did not want to drink? It was the cup of separation from His Father. What JESUS dreaded with tears and bloody sweat, was the time when all the sin of the world would be on Him and His Father would not be able to look on His own Son.  This is the cup of separation.

JESUS had the will to say yes or no to GOD. In his flesh, He had will and decision ability.  JESUS chose to yield to the Will of Father GOD. Our salvation hinged on this GETHSEMANE CRY. JESUS said "yes" to the will of His Father and yielded up His flesh to be crucified.

In all our struggles and situations, we, too, have the choice and our future depends on that choice. May we say:
NEVERTHELESS, NOT WHAT I WILL, BUT THAT THOU WILT

GET WISDOM!!!!

Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom; and with all thy getting, get understanding.

GET WISDOM!!!!

We hear on the TV. the ad, "got milk!" milk is what strengthens the bones and brings health to the body. Wisdom was so important the GOD kept wisdom with Him when He created all things; wisdom walks with GOD and by the Holy Spirit, wisdom is bestowed to man.  Wisdom brings health to the mind, body and spirit.

How do you "get wisdom"? Wisdom from GOD is pure and can easily be accessed by Holy Scripture; prayer and the witness of the Holy Spirit in your life. The Holy Scripture contains the wisdom of GOD for you to read, study and inwardly digest.  Prayer, brings the wisdom of GOD directly into your life and circumstances. The Holy Spirit of GOD brings power to the wisdom, so that what GOD says, becomes a living reality. Understanding increases the effectiveness of wisdom in your life and in the life of others.

WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPAL THING; THEREFORE, GET WISDOM

REMEMBER GOODNESS AND MERCY

Psalm 23:6
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

THE BENEFIT OF GOODNESS AND MERCY

The goodness and mercy of GOD follows those who love JESUS; you can not go anywhere without them. The goodness and the mercy of GOD surrounds us with the blessed arms of the LORD; it is like the kiss of the LORD on our heart.

In all of life, there are troubling circumstances, but the fact is, that goodness and mercy are there to help in the time of need; this is the nature of Jesus. Why do we not feel their presence? because we are not looking for them; we think that we are alone in our circumstances.  This is not true, we are never alone in life, JESUS walks with us, the Holy Angels guard us and the full nature of GOD is manifest. Why don't we see them? because we are not looking for their manifestation. STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN!!!!! JESUS is calling you and goodness and mercy are following you.

There is another aspect to this reality; since goodness and mercy follow YOU, you are obligated to give goodness and mercy to others. When you give to others, goodness and mercy are strengthened and you receive back with abundance.  Those who reflect the nature of GOD will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY SHALL FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE.
