Ministry of Angels-continued

Friday, February 11, 2011
II Kings 6: 17
And Elisha prayed, and said, "LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. " And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

ANGELS HELP TO DEFEAT THE ENEMY

The key to the defeat of the enemy, in the account of Elisha, found in II Kings 6, is that Elisha prayed to the LORD, asking for help in the time of need. He prayed in faith, believing that the LORD would do for him what was needed. He was also praying more for the young man to have the gift of sight to see the power of the LORD GOD. Elisha knew the presence of angels, horses and chariots of fire. He knew the power of GOD, but he wanted the same faith to be strengthened in the young man. This servant of Elisha was filled with fear and Elisha wanted to replace that fear with faith.

What are these chariots and horses of fire? They are angels. (II Kings 2:11; Psalm 34:7; Psalm 68:17).
Psalm 68:17 says: The chariots of GOD are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels; the LORD is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

JESUS commands these angels and they are obedient to do his bidding. This is why it is so incredible that JESUS submitted to be crucified by humankind, when He could have asked the Father for legions of angels to deliver Him. Why did He not ask the Father? It was because He Loved us so very much that He suffered, bled and died for us. He bought us back from death, so that we would live forever with Him. He was the perfect offering for our sin; he willingly laid down His life so that we might live. He rose again, so that we might be resurrected with Him; He has prepared the way for us to live with Him forever in Glory.

LORD, OPEN OUR EYES SO THAT WE MIGHT SEE YOU FACE TO FACE, AND TELL THE STORY, "SAVED BY GRACE."
