John 8: 12
I AM the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.
JESUS, THE TRUE LIGHT
In John 1: 3-5 we hear that JESUS IS THE LIGHT and "In Him was life; and the life was the light of men." We are shown elsewhere in Scripture that darkness; deep, thick, blackness, is what the world is without JESUS.
When we follow JESUS, not try to walk ahead of Him but follow Him, we are walking in the light and we can see the path that He is taking. This is very important, because we can not see ahead of us, so we stumble and fall in the darkness, JESUS IS WITH US, but we have chosen to go ahead of Him, impatiently, wandering in the unknown.
The fear of the unknown is conquered by faith in JESUS and to follow Him faithfully. In Psalm 119 we find these words, "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."
JESUS IS THAT TRUE LIGHT, follow Him.
