II Corinthians 10: 5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of GOD, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
TAKE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS CAPTIVE
One of the devil's playgrounds are our imaginations. We can imagine all sorts of things that have no basis in truth, they are just fairy tales. We can dream up and cook up all sorts of vain ideas that are not real or based in fact. Usually these imaginations have as the hero, ourselves; we are the victors and others are the victims.
When we get caught in the negative imaginations, we can become gloomy and angry; leading to despair and rage. We begin to act out what we have been imagining and this can lead to some very awful behavior. We must learn to take negative thoughts captive and embrace the pure thoughts of GOD.
Where do you find the "pure thoughts of GOD"? by reading, studying and meditating on the Word of GOD, the Holy Scripture. GOD has made His will and truth very real, what is needed is our obedience to it.
When a thought does not agree with the Word of the LORD, cast it down and out. Don't let vain imaginations pollute your mind, heart and actions.
