I Peter 2:5
Ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to GOD by JESUS Christ.
This week, we are talking about Spiritual Sacrifices that are acceptable to GOD. The journey begins with the understanding that we are "living stones" and a "holy priesthood". Born Again believers in JESUS Christ are His priests. What we do, say, think and plan are to be completely focused on JESUS. This, in itself, is a sacrifice of the flesh and priorities.
A Priest, dedicated his life to the LORD'S service. He never wavered from his course, nor deviated from following the pattern of priestly service. The priests of old were very aware that whatever they did in service of the LORD had eternal implications, not only for them, but for the whole community or tribe. We, as a holy priesthood, must maintain the same intense devotion to JESUS, looking to Him, the author and finisher of our faith. All our work is in His sight and has eternal implications for our selves as well as the whole community.
As living stones, we are joined together and placed in such a way as to build the house of GOD. This house of GOD is for spiritual worship and the conversion of souls to Christ. This house must be a house of prayer, not a den of thieves. Those who come seeking Christ, must find Him in the spiritual house that we build upon the foundation, which is JESUS Christ the LORD.
So the first, and most important fact is, that JESUS is the foundation and the corner stone. The mortar is Love and each living stone is lively with the Spirit of GOD. There can be no more important reality than this:
JESUS is LORD!!!
