Psalm 98: 4-6
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth; make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.
It says in Luke 6:45c: " For of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks". When our heart is filled with great joy and celebration, the mouth will sing and praise with a loud shout of joy. Trumpets and cornets, tambourines and dance are all instruments of great celebration. Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs are an expression of gladness from the heart.
What are we celebrating? Why is this loud joy coming from our heart and through our mouth? What good news have we heard which makes our heart sing? It is the good news of our redemption by the unconditional love of GOD for all the earth. We are celebrating the fact that we have been set free by the willing sacrifice of JESUS. We are celebrating, because we are the beloved child of the Living GOD who loves us, with a love that transcends all earthly love.
Beloved, we are free to dance; free to sing; free to clap our hands and lift up our voice in the presence of the LORD, the King. We are alive, because JESUS lives. The Messiah has redeemed us from death and brought us into eternal life with Him.
SING AND REJOICE, O CHILDREN OF GOD! THE LORD, THE KING HAS REDEEMED YOU.
