II Timothy 2: 11-13
It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him; if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He also will deny us; if we believe not, yet He abideth faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND FELLOWSHIP OF SUFFERING
By the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote one of the most profound statements in the New Testament letters: "If we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him; if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him". Paul is saying that GOD is faithful to do for us what He did for JESUS, raise us from the dead. He is also defining the fellowship of those who suffer, as being fellowship with JESUS. (Philippians 3:10).
There is no suffering in the human condition that JESUS did not suffer for us. Therefore, He knows just how we feel in every circumstance. He can say, what we cannot say to one another: " I know how you feel" He does know just how we feel.
If, in the midst of our daily life, we deny Him or lose our belief in Him, yet He will remain faithful to us, because He cannot deny Himself. If you want proof of the fact that JESUS remains faithful even to those who deny Him, look at Peter. Peter denied JESUS three times at a most critical time in the life of JESUS; yet, JESUS restored Peter to fellowship with Him, by His faithful Love.
It would be a good study for all of us, to look at the faithfulness of JESUS in all circumstances of His life. Since JESUS is GOD incarnate, we can get a real understanding of the deeper meaning of the word "faithful". The faithfulness of JESUS and the resurrection power of GOD by the Holy Spirit are eternally linked. Think about it!!!!!
