II Corinthians 9: 6-9
PART I
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also real sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for GOD loves a cheerful giver. And GOD is able to make all grace abound in you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever."
Tomorrow, we will discuss verses 10-15 of II Corinthians, so if you want to read ahead, do so in preparation for tomorrow.
Every farmer will tell you that you have to plant seed in the ground in order to get a harvest. Giving to others is like planting seed in the ground, the harvest in the soul of those who receive the seed, will be great, to the glory of GOD. "Seed", JESUS says, is the Word of GOD. The Word of GOD is planted in many ways, kindness and giving are a some of the ways.
When we give out of a generous heart, GOD is well pleased and will bless those who give. His blessings will be down the line of the need that you have; it is like a "kiss" from GOD. The quote from Psalm 112:9 sums up the position of GOD on this matter. "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever."
What is the blessing given to the one who scatters "his gifts to the poor"? The gift is a right relationship with GOD (righteousness). The Nature of GOD is to give and those who give are reflecting the nature of GOD; therefore, this nature endures forever. Those who reflect the nature of GOD are blessed and a blessing. Look at the word "all" in the II Corinthians verses. In all grace; all things at all time; all you need will be given unto you, because you have given.
