LIVE 2 GIVE GRACE

OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD
Acts 9:36
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas; this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did.

FREELY YOU HAVE RECEIVED, FREELY GIVE.

Alms deeds are acts of grace, given in love, to meet the needs of the poor. Dorcus, which means gazelle, was quick to give alms to the poor. Her alms deeds, brought grace to her in her time of need and GOD raised her from the dead through the humble prayers of the Apostle Peter. The LORD rewards alms giving and alms deeds with mercy and grace in the time of need, because the LORD loves a cheerful giver.

There are many groups of women of the church, who are good examples of the ministry of Dorcus. They are like gazelles, rushing to meet and greet the poor with grace and love. This Thanksgiving, Living Faith Christian Center gave 1375 boxes of full Turkey Dinners (Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, potatoes, pie, cool whip and cooking tray) to the poor in Prescott Valley, AZ and the surrounding area. With that food, there were free coats (over 1000 given) and free blankets (over 500 given). This was made possible by donations of alms money, $23,000.00+ and coats and blankets by the worshipers at Living Faith plus, over 65 volunteers who gave labor of love for three days, preparing to distribute to the needy. Above all this, there were clothes, shoes, hats scarves and toys available for people to take.

Why did Living Faith Christian Center do this? Why did the people work so hard to prepare for this event? Why? Because, GOD has given freely to all, therefore, we give freely to others. JESUS said that "whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me." JESUS walked among the people "in the distressing disguise of the poor" and JESUS was served well.

Underlying and surrounding all this effort was the humble prayer of those who could not physically labor. The prayer team went to the LORD in prayer before, during and after; praising GOD for the ability to serve Him and to give to those in need. GOD received the glory or the things He had done, by the givers and the receivers. Even those who passed by in their cars, or looked across the field at the multitude, gave glory to GOD for His Grace flowing out. FOR HIS HOLY NAME SAKE.

FREELY WE HAVE RECEIVED; FREELY WE GIVE
