MEMORIAL-REMEMBER

John 15: 13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

On May the 5th, 1866, the first flowers were placed on graves of the fallen Civil War soldiers. In 1868 the president declared  a Nation wide celebration called Decoration Day. On that day, friends and families of the fallen soldiers of war would place flowers on their graves in remembrance of their great sacrifice for the freedom of the Nation. Memorial Day is a time to respect our Military, honor them, remember the fallen and reflect on our freedom, bought with the price of blood.

Those who fight for their country and for the good of people everywhere, are the personification of John 15:13. Their love and devotion to freedom and the end of tyranny speaks of the greater love which motivates "a man to lay down his life for his friends". In every country, there are men and women fighting for freedom and a peaceful life. Let us be sure to thank and honor them for their devotion.

For this week we will look at the memorial and remembrance of GOD who sent His Son to be the Great Soldier of GOD; laying down His life for the freedom of all humankind.

CELEBRATE THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO BOUGHT OUR FREEDOM WITH THEIR OWN BLOOD. LET US HONOR THEM, RESPECT THEM, REMEMBER THEM AND REFLECT ON THEIR SACRIFICE.
