GOD'S MEMORIAL DAY

Exodus 12: 21
Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, "Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover"

THE LORD'S PASSOVER

For the rest of the week, I will be looking at Exodus 12: 21-27 as a foreshadow of the willing sacrifice of JESUS, our passover. I will also be looking at this as a glimpse into the depth of the meaning of Christian Communion.  Communion is one of the two Ordinances of the Church, the other is Baptism. These two were ordained by GOD to be continued until the day of His return.

In verse 21 of Exodus 12 we find Moses, the leader of the people, calling the elders of Israel, the leaders of the twelve tribes, together for the establishment of the ordinance proclaimed by GOD. He instructs them to "draw out" or select out of the fold, a lamb for every family, for every household. This lamb was to be killed and if a family did not have a lamb or could not afford to buy one, the people with lambs were to share their lambs with others. The importance of this word from the LORD was the foundation for the Passover mystery to unfold.

JESUS is the Passover Lamb that was slain for us, so that those who believe on His Name would be saved. GOD calls the elders of the Church to gather together every household and instruct them to REMEMBER THE PASSOVER OF OUR LORD BY REMEMBERING THE DEATH OF JESUS, OUR PASSOVER LAMB WITHOUT SPOT OR BLEMISH. (Exodus 12:5)

WE REMEMBER HIS DEATH; WE PROCLAIM HIS RESURRECTION AS WE AWAIT HIS COMING IN GLORY
