Ephesians 6: 18, 19
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that Utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel.

We are directed by the Apostle Paul to "keep watch" for all the saints/brethren, leaders, those in authority and to pray for them, in the Spirit. Why don't we just keep a list of people and pray, asking the LORD to bless each one everyday and let it go at that? Wouldn't just a simple prayer be OK? Why pray "in the Spirit"?

The Holy Spirit knows the need of every person and the heart of every one. When we pray in the Spirit, He instructs us how to pray for each individual, according to their need. Many times, people dance across our heart while we are in prayer, this is the time that they need the prayer the most; we don't need to know why. Praying in the Spirit, unites our heart with the Heart of GOD; we, therefore, pray according to His mind. It takes time to pray, persevere, and supplicate. Intercession for the co-laborers with Christ, is all about sitting with JESUS and hearing His Heart, this takes intentional time.

The Holy Spirit is the one who opens doors of utterance, so that individuals will hear the Gospel of JESUS Christ in their own language. Timing for the planting of the Holy Seed of the Word of GOD is essential, so that the seed will bear fruit. The Holy Spirit knows when the time is right and He opens the door; He brings to that person just the right man or woman to bring the Gospel and lead the soul to Christ. We must be alert for the movement of the Holy Spirit, so that we know when the time is at it's peak. WATCH AND PRAY; BE ALERT, STAND GUARD, A WATCHMAN ON THE WALL.

Prayer, in the Spirit, will change things in the natural. Pray for the time when you will be the instrument of GOD in the conversion of a soul.
