Luke 9: 62
JESUS replied, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of GOD.
DON'T LOOK BACK
Yesterday, I recounted the story of Lot's wife, who looked back at the burning of Sodom and was turned into a pillar of salt; she disobeyed GOD. This verse from Luke 9 is the Word of the LORD to us and we are called to obey His Word. DON'T LOOK BACK!
Don't look back at past success and long for that time again. Don't look back at past failures and wish you could correct the wrong. Put all under the Blood of JESUS and in the sea of forgetfulness. Forgive yourself and forget your self; instead, look to JESUS, the author and finisher of your faith.
Unforgiveness effects your walk with the LORD. It causes you to walk in shame, with your head down, not able to lift your eyes to see the forgiving love of JESUS for you. Lift up your head and look into the eyes of Love and rejoice. Change your focus; reach out for the vision of JESUS for you and then walk in His Light.
Every farmer knows that if you are plowing a field, you have to look at a point on the horizon, in order to plow a straight furrow. A farmer who "looks back" will plow a crooked path and so it is with us, if we look back, our path will not be straight. Our focus must be on JESUS every moment of every day, He will direct our path in the way that we should go.
IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM AND HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATH
