Mark 10: 46, 49-50
And they came to Jericho; and as He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway begging... And JESUS stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, "Be of good comfort; rise, He calleth thee". And he, casting away his garment, rose and came to JESUS.
EXPECT A MIRACLE
Many people, who ask for a miracle, stop short of the manifestation, by giving up. They believe that JESUS is the Son of GOD and they are persistent in prayer, but stop short of expecting their miracle.
I have heard a number of precious people say: "To expect a miracle is arrogant." NO it isn't, it is faith alive or, as our Church's name says: living faith. When you read and study the Scripture, you find that GOD is able and willing to give you the miracle that you ask. We also find in the Scripture that GOD has a timing for that miracle and His timing is not always our timing. We want what we ask right now; GOD has a perfect time for the manifestation of His creative act.
We see in verse 49 that JESUS stood still and had others call Bartimaeus to come to Him. We are on a journey with JESUS, but when He stands still before us, He will have another call us to come to Him. How many times have Altar Calls been the call of GOD in a life to come to JESUS for a miracle? Salvation is the great miracle. GOD loved us so much that He gave his highest and best for our salvation. JESUS was the sacrificial Lamb, slain for our sin and His Blood covers us and heals us. THAT IS A MIRACLE.
So we see that the first miracle for Bartimaeus, was that JESUS stood still and had him called. The next step was that Bartimaeus threw off his garment. This was the chance of a lifetime and Bartimaeus threw off everything to receive his miracle. Those who come to JESUS must throw off anything that might hinder them from coming to JESUS, especially self-sufficiency. This is a great and necessary act on the part of anyone who would receive a miracle.
Pastor Randy stressed that there is to be NO PLAN B. In other words, JESUS is the only way to our miracle. NO "but what ifs"; NO auxiliary plan, if this does not work. We are to cast off all doubt and cling to JESUS for our answer, EXPECTING Him to respond. "Blessed is she that believed; for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the LORD." (Luke 1:45). This is the faith of the Virgin Mary and she received the great miracle of the Son of GOD, born through her.
BELIEVE, PERSIST AND EXPECT A MIRACLE FROM THE LORD'S HAND.
COME TO HIM, ARISE, HE IS CALLING YOU.
