1 John 1:5-7
This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that GOD is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth; but if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the Blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanseth us from all sin.
GOD IS LIGHT, AND IN HIM IS NO DARKNESS AT ALL. It breaks my heart and I know that it breaks His, when there is darkness in the eyes, heart and mind of a person. What really breaks the heart is when that darkness is a shroud around a Christian. This person, whether it be another or our self, does not have fellowship with GOD, who is Light. It takes the Light of Christ to pierce that darkness and clear away the stain of sin. If we say that we have no sin, we lie. So, what is the remedy for the sickness of sin which darkens the eyes and heart of man. THE BLOOD OF JESUS CLEANSETH US FROM ALL SIN.
How do we get this remedy and be healed from the sickness of sin? 1 John 1:9 has the answer: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
To hang on to the darkness, as if it was something good; if we defend our position, as if we were righteous. We sacrifice fellowship with GOD and darkness covers us like a shroud.
There is a good discipline to follow every day, confess your sin unto Almighty GOD and receive forgiveness through the washing of His Blood over you.
THIS, THEN IS THE MESSAGE WHICH WE HAVE HEARD FROM HIM, GOD IS LIGHT AND IN HIM IS NO DARKNESS AT ALL.
