PROFIT OF PRAYER - EVERYTHING

Luke 18:7,8
And shall not GOD avenge His own elect, who cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily, Nevertheless, when the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?
Psalm 56:9
When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back; this I know; for GOD is for me.
Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb; and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

PRAYER BRINGS VICTORY

GOD avenges his elect, when they pray to Him in faith believing that what He says He will do. Even if the LORD waits to fulfill His promise, GOD is faithful to bring victory to His people. We are to cry to Him and faint not, but cry to Him day and night for His mercy. When we cry to Him, the enemies will turn back, because GOD is with us. The victory is already won for us by the Blood of JESUS, we testify to that by our life and we do not hold back even if it cost us greatly.

When we pray, we are saved/rescued; kept from falling; tongue kept under control; given GOD'S wisdom; healed; given the victory. So what is the profit of prayer? EVERYTHING.

3 John vs. 2
Beloved, I wish (pray) above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

PRAYER BRINGS HEALING AND PROSPERITY

This letter, written by John to Gaius, is a perfect example of preventative prayer. John is praying for Gaius to prosper and be in good health, in his body as well as his soul. Prayer for another is known as intercessory prayer, so John is interceeding for Gaius. It is also true that when we pray for others, the LORD builds us up. Prayer brings prosperity for the one prayed for, as well as the one praying. When we are in prayer, we are in relationship with GOD. As our heart unites with His, He brings His love and mercy to us. This powerful relationship extends to the ones for whom we pray. All profit through prayer.

In the first sentence I used the words "preventative prayer". This is asking for GOD to go before us and bring wholeness, as compared with prayer in the midst of a storm. Many times, people ask for prayer during a crisis, how much better it would be to ask for prayer before a situation occurs. Preventative prayer puts GOD in charge of all situations before they arise. John is giving Gaius over to the authority of GOD, who will make prosperity and health possible.

I PRAY THAT ALL WHO READ THIS WILL PROSPER AND BE IN GOOD HEALTH EVEN AS THY SOUL PROSPERETH.

PROFIT OF PRAYER - EVERYTHING

Thursday, July 29, 2010
James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of GOD who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.

PRAYER BRINGS GOD'S WISDOM

To ask of GOD, is another way of saying "prayer". When we ask GOD for wisdom, we are praying to the source of wisdom and GOD answers our prayer with abundance. In the scripture, there is the story of Solomon. When he became King of Israel, he prayed for wisdom and the LORD not only gave him wisdom to govern the Children of GOD, but He gave Solomon everything he did not ask for: riches, fame, and long life.(1Kings 3:5-14).

In the many situations of our life, we need wisdom. Oftentimes, we seek the wisdom of other people and forget to ask the only One who can give wisdom, GOD alone. The wisdom of people is partial, at best, they can only speculate. If you follow their lead, you will have only partial success, however, if you ask GOD for wisdom in a matter, you can expect total wisdom on the matter and abundant success. I don't know about you, but I want total success that will last a life time. So, PRAY FOR WISDOM.

THE FOOLISHNESS OF GOD IS WISER THAN MAN; AND THE WEAKNESS OF GOD IS STRONGER THAN MAN (1 Corinthians 1:25)

PROFIT OF PRAYER - EVERYTHING

Wednesday, July 28, 2010
Psalm 141:3
Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
Proverbs 13:3
He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life, but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Prayer keeps our tongue under control

The tongue is a little thing that can do great damage. In James Chapter 3, the tongue is compared to a rudder on a ship, it is little but it can steer a great vessel. James also says that the tongue is a fire, a great destroyer. There is an old saying, "loose lips sink ships". We can see this kind of mess everyday, in every place, by even the best of people. So, what is the cure for this disease of "loose lips"? Prayer keeps our tongue under control.

When we pray, we agree with GOD on matters. We are also united with GOD along the lines of His desire. It is said that "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" therefore, when we are in prayer, our heart is fixed on GOD and out of our mouth comes GODLY things.

I have a friend who prays before she answers the telephone. She also taught me that when you are asked a question, before you answer you need to pray. The Scripture admonishes us to be slow to speak and quick to listen. Unfortunately, many people think that it is the reverse: slow to listen and quick to speak. The art of listening, praying and speaking is a great study. The Scripture is filled with strong examples. One of the examples is Zechariah in Luke 1:11-20. He was so quick to speak that the angel Gabriel had to strike him dumb until he did as he was instructed by GOD. Most of us are not too different from Zechariah.

We are charged by GOD with the task of building up the Body of Christ. We cannot fulfill our mission if we speak without praying and speak in negativity. The result of negative speaking is to tear down and not build up. The Psalmist reminds us to set a watch upon our mouth and keep the door shut. Proverbs reminds us that if we keep our mouth we keep our life.

MAKE MY LIPS AN INSTRUMENT OF YOUR PRAISE, O LORD.

PROFIT OF PRAYER - EVERYTHING

Tuesday, July 27, 2010
Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

The second principle of "the profit of prayer" is: Prayer keeps us from falling.

In the key verse, we find JESUS in the garden of Gethsemane in the most horrific agony. He has asked His closest friends to stay with Him and support Him while He prayed. After He prayed the first time, He went to where his friends were and found them asleep. This prompted JESUS to make the statement: "Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation."

Prayer keeps us from falling into sin and getting entangled in addictive snares. In the prayer that JESUS taught his disciples, He said: "lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil"(Matthew 6:13). In this perfect prayer, there is a petition for GOD to protect from evil and to guard against temptations beyond our control. Prayer prevents temptation and evil.

What is being suggested here is that before temptations and misfortunes, we need to pray for GOD'S hand of Love and mercy, His grace to surround us so that we do not fall into harm. "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak", prayer brings GOD'S power into all situations and we are kept from falling.

PROFIT OF PRAYER - EVERYTHING

Job 21:15
What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto Him?
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.

In Job, we hear two questions often asked by people in despair, "why should I serve a GOD I can not see? and why pray, what good does it do?" You can not be in the care professions without hearing these questions. So, let's answer them in a clear and concise way. This week, we will address 6 ways in which we profit from prayer. I encourage you to follow these principles in your daily life and see the PROFIT OF PRAYER. Everything profits from prayer and everyone profits. Let's look at the ways and count them. Then you add to them from your own experience.

The first way in which we profit from prayer is Salvation. The Romans passage says that "whosoever" shall call (pray) in the Name of the LORD shall receive Salvation. You see, prayer brings heaven down to us and us to heaven. The ear of the Almighty is attentive to our cry. His great love and mercy reaches out of us and His right Hand and outstretched arm rescues and delivers us from our distress. GOD does not just save some people, He is ready to save "whosoever calls upon the Name of the LORD".

SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

Galatians 6:7,8
Be not deceived, GOD is not mocked, for whatever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

While I was writing the words from the Scripture today, I got an insight that caused me to pause. It has to do with the word, "corruption". I always thought that this word indicated something vile and immoral, but the insight I got was, like the physical body which dies, seed sown to the flesh will die away. The opposite is equally true, those seeds sown to the Spirit will reap life everlasting. This causes me to look at how I spend my time, talent, and treasure; am I sowing my time, my ability, and my money to fleshly things or to GOD. I must take time to do an inventory. Those things that occupy my time, which are carnally intended, will die away quickly and will not satisfy. Those things which build up the Body of Christ and my own life in JESUS, will last eternally and will continue to feed my spirit.

There is another insight, gained from a Sermon on Sowing and Reaping: Name your seed; what seed you plant, you will reap. If you plant a peach seed, you will get a peach tree with peaches. If you plant a cherry seed, you will get cherries. You won't get cherries from a peach tree or peaches from a cherry tree. So, name your seed.

At this point, I must watch with diligence. Let's say, that I plant a seed named "finances". Let's say that I want financial abundance so that I can have cars, parties, social life and extravagance; this is fleshly and will die away. However, let's say that I plant a seed named "finances" so that I can provide comfort for a sick neighbor, or gas and a car to get to a God-called ministry, or to buy Bibles for people in poverty, or to give to a ministry of JESUS Christ, or to feed the poor or to feed my family so that they are strong to bring good things into the world; I have sown to the Spirit and will reap those things which last eternally. What I am trying to say is that the motive for sowing seed is essential. This is cause for self examination: "What is my motive for sowing, so that when I reap it will be unto eternal life for others and for myself. Is it to please GOD or to please self? Think about it!!!!

TO GOD BE THE GLORY IN ALL THINGS AND FOR ALL THINGS; IN EVERYTHING MAY GOD BE GLORIFIED.

SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

Friday, July 23, 2010
Philippians 4: 16-19
For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift; but I desire fruit that my abound to your account. But I have all, and abound. I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to GOD. But my GOD shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ JESUS.

Did you know that your giving is building a Spiritual bank account? What the Apostle Paul is saying in these verses is that when you come to the aid of another, you are planting seed in good ground. When there is fruit from the ministry to and from that person, you share in the abundance, because your sacrifice enabled the work of the LORD to progress. The blessings build up, so that when you are in need, GOD supplies from your account, as well as, from his riches in Glory. Notice that Paul calls the supplies sent to him for his "necessity", a "sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to GOD"; generosity and liberal giving to the work of GOD, blesses GOD and gives Him the joy of knowing that His work for the salvation of the World will continue.

We are all linked together as the Body of Christ in the world. Let's be diligent in our labor for the sake of His Holy Name. Let us plant seeds of Love, grace, mercy and peace, so that the world will be transformed by the gracious goodness of GOD, who withheld nothing, so that we all might be saved.

NOW IS THE TIME TO PLANT THE SEED OF THE WORD AND LOVE OF GOD. IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME, THERE WILL BE A GREAT HARVEST

SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

Thursday, July 22, 2010
II Corinthians 9:6-8
But this I say, "He who soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he who soweth bountifully shall reap bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity; for GOD loveth a cheerful giver. And GOD is able to make ALL grace abound toward you, that ye, ALWAYS having ALL sufficiency in ALL things, may abound to every good work".

The third principle of sowing and reaping is: The harvest is always greater than the seed sown.

Think about a peach seed, it is one seed that you can hold in your hand. Now think about a peach tree, grown from a peach seed, it is tall and able to be climbed, not held in the hand. Now imagine the fruit on that peach tree, grown from the single peach seed. When the peaches are harvested, they can fill many baskets with good fruit, each containing a seed. Wouldn't you agree that the harvest of peaches is greater than the seed sown?

When we sow a spiritual seed unto the LORD, for His glory and for the fulfillment of His purpose, He takes that little seed and brings forth an abundance. There are a number of stories in the Scripture which tell of this principle: the little boy and his lunch feeding the 5000 people with 12 baskets left over (John 6:5-13); the parable of the mustard seed (Matthew 13:31, Mark 4:30, Luke 13:18); the abundance of fish (John 21: 3-6); and many more. In each case, the seed was small, too small to accomplish it's purposed task, but GOD turned the littleness into great abundance. So it is with the spiritual seed planted to the glory of GOD.

I pointed out the word "ALL" and the word "always" to make a point. II Corinthians 9:8 says: "and GOD is able to make all grace abound toward you, that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work". GOD will always supply your needs from His storehouse, so that when your needs are met, you will be able to meet the needs of others. He gives you the seed to sow in other lives, so that they too will reap a harvest in their life. On and on it goes, until the whole earth is filled with His Glory.

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not there, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater, so shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth; it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah 55:10,11)

SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

Wednesday, July 21, 2010
Genesis 26: 1,12
And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech, king of the Philistines, unto Gerar... Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

The second principle of seed time and harvest is: Never allow circumstances to control your sowing of the seed.

If Isaac had looked at his circumstances - famine and drought - and had not obeyed the word of the LORD, he would not only have been disobedient to GOD, but he would not have experienced the great miracle of abundance from GOD'S hand. When GOD says sow a seed into good ground, do it right away, don't try to second guess or argue with GOD. He has a plan and that plan depends on obedience to Him. He wants to bless us with a bountiful harvest even in the middle of famine and drought. Follow Him and He will give you what you need out of His storehouse.

If you do not sow seed, you can not reap a harvest. So, sow liberally with thanksgiving unto GOD.

GOD will supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory in Christ Jesus

SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

Tuesday, July 20, 2010
Luke 6:38
Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye measure it shall be measured to you again.

There are 4 principles of sowing and harvest in the realm of Spiritual things. The first is: seed has to be sown before there can be a harvest. You might be saying, "that is obvious" well, it is in the natural world, so that we might understand that it is basic in the Spiritual.

In the parable of the Sower, in Matthew 13, we find that the seed is the Word of God. It is given to the sower and He sows into the world. In other words, He gives the seed that he has received, to the soil. Spiritually, we must give what we have received from GOD'S hand, to the good ground and then we can expect to see a harvest of abundance. If we do not sow the seed we have been given, by giving to the work of GOD in the world, we can not expect to see an abundant harvest.

What kinds of seed do we sow? Is it only money, as in the tithe or the offering given for the work of the Church? The tithe is basic first fruits given for GOD'S work through His Church, the seed has many forms including money. Some examples are: prayer, evangelism, teaching the Word of GOD, sharing food, knitting and crocheting items for those in need, calling the lonely, visiting the sick, clothing the naked, honoring parents, and giving the seed of kindness. There are so many other ways that a person can plant a seed of GOD into good ground. When we do this in the holy Name of JESUS and for His sake, we can expect to see a harvest of good things.

Think about this: the harvest is always greater than the seed planted. I might plant one peach seed, but the tree that grows from the one seed will produce a crop of peaches every year. Usually, there are more peaches than can be consumed by any one person, so we give away the peaches to other people, who plant a seed in good ground and they, too, have a peach tree with abundance. The more peaches the more potential trees to produce more peaches with seeds. This goes on and on. So does the Spiritual seed planted in JESUS name. There is no end to the abundance of one seed.

GOD has given us all seeds to sow, sow liberally and watch for the harvest. The sower always reaps what he sows. You will be greatly blessed.

SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

Monday, July 19, 2010
Genesis 8:22
While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

I am reminded, in this verse, of the very famous Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and 11a. "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..."; verse 11, "He hath made every thing beautiful in its time." GOD has ordained for our good, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night. All this is for our good so that all things will be beautiful in its time.

If this seems complicated to you, let me make it simple by a story: I know of prisoners captured during WWII and imprisoned in a dark cave for many years. When they were found and liberated from their cave by American troops, their skin had turned paper white and thin; they could not see, because the light blinded them; they were weak and couldn't walk; they were in shock, because of the change in atmosphere, temperature and companionship, this left them disoriented and frightened. They had only lived in darkness, dampness, and cold, so their body, mind and spirit had been normalized to one condition - darkness.

GOD has provided time, seasons, temperature and light changes to keep us in balance. Plants do not flourish in the dark and mushrooms do not grow in the light. We do not flourish unless there is change in light/dark, cold/heat, day/night. winter/summer.

What does this all have to do with spiritual growth? How does this deepen our relationship with GOD? The word is very clear, we must sow and expect that there will be a harvest. What is the seed? He gives us his Word and we plant it in good soil. We must count on GOD to provide the right balance for prosperity and a good harvest. How can we count on GOD to provide? Because He has never failed His people and because He has promised and will never go back on His Word.

WHAT WORD FROM THE WORD ARE YOU SOWING INTO GOOD GROUND?

He hath made every thing beautiful in its time; and in His time.

PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS

Saturday, July 17, 2010
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the Blood of JESUS, His Son, cleanseth us from all sin.

I
n the past 3 days we have looked at the provision of GOD through the precious Blood of JESUS. The first provision was redemption; the second, atonement; third, remission and forgiveness of sins. Now we see that the Blood of JESUS cleanses us from ALL sin.

What is the difference between remission, forgiveness and cleansing? Remission means the blotting out of sins from the past; forgiveness means blotting out sins committed now and in the future; cleansing means, taking an axe to the root of sin. Notice the change in the word "sin". Remission and forgiveness are for "sins" committed - many sins, sins upon sins. Cleansing is the elimination of the "root" of sin. Matthew 3:10 says: "and now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees; therefore, every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire". Trees, in this verse, are sins; the root is the cause of sin. Cleansing by the Blood of JESUS washes away and kills the "root" of sin so that it can no longer bring forth fruit (sins).

JESUS PAID IT ALL; ALL TO HIM I OWE. THANK YOU, LORD, FOR SAVING MY SOUL AND MAKING ME WHOLE. YOUR BLOOD WASHED ME WHITE AS SNOW, NO OTHER FOUNT I KNOW, NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS

Friday, July 16, 2010
Matthew 26:28
For this is My Blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Romans 3:25
Whom GOD hath set forth to be a propitiation through His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of GOD.
Ephesians 1:7
In whom we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Remission of sins and forgiveness of sins are different. Many people think that they are the same, but the Scripture makes it clear that they cover different aspects of GOD'S grace, when it comes to sins. "Remission of sins" is the blotting out of all past sins, as seen in Romans 3:25. "Forgiveness of sins" is GOD'S act of grace, wiping out the sins of the present and the future, the pardoning of sins "according to the riches of His grace".

Why is this so important? Why spend time looking so deeply into these words? Because, there are many people who do not understand that when we accept JESUS as our LORD and Savior, and are covered with His precious Blood, our sins of the past are ALL remitted - blotted out. Many people do not understand that when we confess our sins unto the LORD, from now on and in the future, our sins are then forgiven. JESUS redeemed us from the slavery to sin; He is the atonement for our sins through His Blood; He is the remission for our sins and He forgives our sins from this point on. All sin is covered; all sin is blotted out as far as the east is from the west.

CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB

PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS

Thursday, July 15,2010
Leviticus 17: 11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

The Blood is precious: costly; priceless; highly esteemed; honored; valuable and beloved. GOD ordained the Blood to be precious and the vehicle for the atonement of the soul. Atonement means: to cover and to be at one. In the beginnings, when humankind sinned, GOD killed an animal and made "coats of skins and clothed them" (Genesis 3:21). This covering was provided by GOD through the shedding of blood. This set the stage for the Blood atonement throughout the whole of Hebrew Scripture. GOD ordained that the Blood of an animal, without blemish would be poured upon the altar, one time a year, as the atonement for the people of Israel.

The precious Blood of JESUS, sacrificed upon the Cross and carried, by JESUS into the Holy of Holies in Heaven, is the perfect, once and for all time, offering for our sins and those of the whole world. When we believe in JESUS as our LORD and Saviour, we are covered with His Blood and made whole. The Blood brings you into the Throne Room of GOD. When GOD sees the Blood of JESUS covering us, He passes over and His judgement is: SAVED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB.

As in the story of Abraham and Isaac, GOD provides a Lamb for our redemption. The Lamb is JESUS. (Genesis 22:1-14) (Hebrews 11:17-19).

Oh, the Blood of JESUS, it washes white as snow

PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS

Wednesday, July 14,2010
Colossians 1: 14
In whom we have redemption through His Blood, even the forgiveness of sins...
I Corinthians 6:20
For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify GOD in your body and in your spirit, which are GOD's.

The old song goes: " Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it; redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His Child and forever I am."

The word, redeemed means: reclaim, liberate from the power of another, debt paid. This is what JESUS did when He gave His life for the salvation of us all. He bought us back from slavery to sin; He paid the price for our life and liberated us from the power of satan. "In whom we have redemption through his Blood, even the forgiveness of sins."

"How can I say thanks for the things He has done for me; things so undeserved that He gave to prove His love for me. The voices of a million angels can not express my gratitude; all that I am and ever hope to be, I owe it all to Thee. To GOD be the glory for the things He has done." There is only one way to say thanks for all that the LORD has done for us: "Glorify GOD in your body and in your spirit which are GOD's".

"THANK YOU LORD FOR SAVING MY SOUL; THANK YOU LORD FOR MAKING ME WHOLE; THANK YOU LORD FOR GIVING TO ME, THY GREAT SALVATION SO RICH AND FREE."

PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS

Tuesday, July13, 2010
2 Peter 1:1,4
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of JESUS CHRIST, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of GOD and our Savior, JESUS CHRIST... By which are given unto us exceedingly great and precious promises, that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Through the Blood of JESUS we have obtained precious faith. Through the Blood of JESUS, we have obtained precious promises. Remember what I said yesterday, precious means: of great value, costly, priceless, highly esteemed, honored and beloved. The Blood of JESUS has given us precious faith, so that we can receive all the precious promises made by GOD for us. Verse 4 says that the precious promises make it possible for us to be partakers of the divine nature. WOW! Through the precious BLOOD of JESUS we can know GOD and serve GOD; live for HIM and eternally partake of HIS Holy Life.

JESUS has made the way for us to be in perfect union with GOD, all we have to do is follow, yield, submit to Him and listen for His voice. When we hear His voice, all we have to do is obey.

TRUST AND OBEY, FOR THERE'S NO OTHER WAY TO BE HAPPY IN JESUS, BUT TO TRUST AND OBEY. BY HIS BLOOD HE RECONCILED US, BY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED.

PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS

Monday, July 12, 2010
I Peter 1:18,19
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver and gold, from your vain manner of life; received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
I Peter 2:7
Unto you, therefore, who believe He is precious, but unto them who are disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner.

There is no redemption without the Blood of Jesus. This is a fact which we know from Scripture. Facts are facts and true, able to be believed. I want to show you another level of belief which goes deeper and is life-changing. It rests in the word, "Precious". When something is precious, it is costly, priceless, highly esteemed, honorable and worthy of honor, beloved. The Blood of JESUS is precious; JESUS is precious to those who believe.

When we speak about someone being "precious", we treat them with great care and love. We nurture the relationship with them and we create time to be with them. The time that is spent with the "precious" one is filled with good gifts, tender words and feelings, deep connections of spiritual union. The precious one holds a place in the heart that no other person can fill. The relationship is treated with tenderness and handled with a gentle touch.

When we speak about the Blood of JESUS and JESUS himself as being precious, we are entering into a full love relationship with the Eternal GOD, who loves us first and who wants a deep, abiding relationship with us. To Him, we are precious, so precious that while we were deep in sin, He gave His life for us, so that we could be in relationship with Him. He called us precious first; now we can, because of Him, call Him precious.

The relationship of two who are united in one beloved relationship for all Eternity, is the most beautiful, Holy and awesome life. It is most real, because JESUS made it so. Don't you wish everyone could know that deep a love? Well they can, if they believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and be saved.

INTERCESSION CHANGES THINGS

Saturday, July 10, 2010
I Samuel 12:19, 23
And all the people said unto Samuel, "Pray for thy servants unto the LORD thy GOD, that we die not; for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask for ourselves a king"...Samuel said, "Moreover, as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way."

These are hard words. Few of us understand that when we are asked to pray for someone, and we do not honor their request, it is sin. I have learned, over many years, that the life I live in Christ JESUS is very serious. GOD takes life very seriously and expects me to take it seriously also. When a person comes to me and asks for prayer, the best is to stop what I am doing and pray with them right on the spot. If I don't, I am leaving the door open for, what I call, "elapses menti", which means I FORGOT. To forget to pray and interceded for a person who asks, is considered a sin against the LORD.

We have been given an awesome ministry, the ministry of intercession. GOD hears our requests made on behalf of others. Literally, we kneel beside JESUS and pray with Him for the good of another person or Nation. What happens when we don't, we miss the opportunity to unite with JESUS in prayer before the Father; we miss the opportunity to share in the celebration of the majesty of GOD when the LORD answers the request. Our sin against the LORD has consequences, the greatest of which is separation from the work of the LORD.

MY DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING; BE INSTANT IN PRAYER; FAITHFULLY INTERCEDE FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD

A correction from the yesterday's devotional:
In the story about the prisoners being released from prison under the reign of Idi Amin, I said that it was in the Sudan, this was a mistake, it was in Uganda not the Sudan. Please forgive me for the error.

INTERCESSION CHANGES THINGS

Friday July 9, 2010
Acts 12:5
Peter, therefore, was kept in prison; but prayer was made without ceasing by the Church unto GOD for Him.

The practice of perpetual prayer is not a usual practice in the Church today. In the early Church, however, it was a common practice to have perpetual prayer in adoration of GOD and in petition to the LORD. Intercession was made for all those who labored for the cause of Christ all over the known world.

In the key verse for today, we find that Peter has been put in prison by Herod the King. The night before he was to be executed, while the Church prayed for him, an Angel of the LORD came and woke Peter up, broke in the prison, and his chains fell off. Peter escaped unharmed. The prayer of the Church was powerful intercession and the LORD heard and acted.

In more recent times, during the reign of Idi Amin in the Sudan, 500 men and women were put into prison unjustly. The Church was praying without ceasing for these prisoners. The night before all 500 were to be killed, 5 men overpowered all the guards of the prison and all 500 were set free. This was an impossible achievement, considering the strength of the guards and the fortress like prison. But GOD answered the prayers of the Church and no power on earth is equal to the power of GOD. GOD is ultimate strength and might.

For more examples of the faith of people and the strength of GOD, read Hebrews 11:32-12:2. There is an endless cloud of witnesses, who testify concerning the Almighty power of the Living GOD and the prayer of the people of GOD.

INTERCESSION CHANGES THINGS

Thursday July 8, 2010
Numbers 14: 18-21
The LORD is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of Thy mercy, and as Thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. And the LORD said, "I have pardoned according to thy word; but as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD."

Moses, the man of GOD, chosen by GOD to lead His people, pleads for pardon for the people. The people had tried GOD'S patience with their continuing sin and separation from Him. Now, GOD has said, "Enough", but Moses begged GOD to pardon the people. GOD PARDONED BASED ON MOSES' INTERCESSION.

Do you understand how very important it is for us to pray for others and for our Nation? When we see iniquity and transgression as the way of life in others and in Nations, our intercession for them is the same as JESUS when He said: "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." When we pray like this, we are in agreement with JESUS, the HOLY SPIRIT and the FATHER. It is my prayer that the whole Church of GOD will pray like this continually. GOD hears and responds with mercy. "He pardons according to our words".

The last part of Verse 21 is very interesting. Not only does GOD pardon the people, but in His great love, He pours out His Spirit over all the earth, so that the earth is filled with the Glory of the LORD. Here, in Numbers, we have a word of the LORD about the repeated pouring out of His Spirit and the mighty outpouring on the Day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit, who is the Glory of GOD, is promised in the Torah.

When we pray for those who are in terrible trouble through their sin and separation from GOD, GOD hears, forgives, heals, restores and fills with His glory. PLEASE, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, KEEP ON PRAYING; KEEP ON BELIEVING; KEEP ON PRAISING GOD; FOR HIS MERCY IS GREAT.

INTERCESSION CHANGES THINGS

Wednesday July 7, 2010
Psalm 106:23
Therefore, He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses, His chosen, stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath, lest He should destroy them.

Most of us pray and we believe that we have those things we pray about, because GOD has promised good things to those who believe on His Name. Do we understand that when we plead mercy for others; when we stand in the gap for others; when we ask GOD with tears for grace and help for others, that GOD hears our heart cry, sees us standing in the "breach" for them and He withholds his anger?

There are many Mothers who are praying for their children and grandchildren to come out of the valley of sin and come to the saving arms of JESUS. There are many people who are praying for their Nation to come back to GOD, so that the people can live in freedom and liberty. These intercessors are standing in the hole in the spirit-hedge made by sin. They have linked arms, hearts and hands in prayer asking GOD to make things right and restore the years that the locusts have eaten. GOD hears and sees the fervent prayers of the people of GOD and He restores the land. Read 2 Chronicles 7:14-16.

If My people, who are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, THEN will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land...

BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD

Tuesday July 6, 2010
James 5: 14-16
Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the LORD; and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the LORD shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Intercession is powerful. Why is this so? It is true, because we are interceding with JESUS and His Holy SPIRIT. There are 3 who intercede for the needs of the world. 1. JESUS, Romans 8:34; 2. The Holy Spirit, Romans 8: 26 and 3. the Church, 1 Timothy 2:1. When the intercession is in one accord and according to the will of GOD - found in His Word - then it will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man that avails much, is prayer in unity with JESUS and His Holy Spirit. This unity can not be stopped by any force and, as the Prayer JESUS taught us states, what is done in heaven will be done on earth. It can not be otherwise. When JESUS prays, it is in accordance with the Father's will; when the HOLY SPIRIT prays, it is in accordance with the Father's will and JESUS will; when the Church prays in agreement with JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT, then the will of the Father GOD will be manifest.

I said in yesterday's devotion, that we should pray for our Nation and people. This is how we must pray: "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven..."

Pray, repent, intercede according to the will of the Father for the Nations and the world.

BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD

Monday July 5,2010
Psalm 33:12
Blessed is the Nation whose GOD is the LORD; and the people who He hath chosen for His own inheritance.

Yesterday, we celebrated the day of our freedom, and we said: God Bless the USA. We called everyone to pray for our nation that the sound of freedom and liberty would ring out across our land. By GOD'S grace we will remain free; live free; know liberty for ourselves and our posterity. By GOD'S grace and favor; by His mercy and love, all this will be accomplished and established forever. July Fourth, we remember our past as we celebrate our present and anticipate our future.

I am aware, however, that there are those who read this devotional who are from other Nations and peoples. As you read about freedom and liberty, you are very conscience of the fact that there are people and Nations where freedom does not ring out and people are suffering. To you, I say, pray without ceasing that all the Nations of the world will look to GOD as the LORD and will honor Him. In doing so, the LORD has promised freedom and liberty that no man can take away. It is the freedom of Salvation, redemption, healing, and wholeness which can only come from GOD.

We stand with all the Nations and people of this world in intercession for freedom. We ask the LORD'S favor on all people, sparing those who cry out for help in their time of need. The torch of liberty points to GOD and lights the path to freedom. JESUS is the way; He is the Truth and He is the Life. Come to Him and be blessed, free, healed and whole.

BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD; BLESSED ARE YOU WHO BELIEVE ON HIS NAME.

WAITING ON GOD

Saturday July 3, 2010
Psalm 62: 5-8
My soul, wait thou only upon GOD; for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In GOD is my salvation and my glory, the rock of my strength; my refuge is in GOD. Trust in Him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before Him. GOD is a refuge for us.

As I write this devotional for today, I realize that this Psalm has two levels of declaration: one is to my own soul and the other is to the people. This tells me that the work of GOD begins with the individual soul and calls that soul to "wait only upon GOD." "My expectation comes from Him", I am established, rooted and grounded in Him. He is the Rock, salvation, glory, strength, refuge, defense and makes me immovable. When this is soundly fixed in my soul, when I know, that I know, that I know, that this is true; I have settled it in my soul and spirit; I am at peace.

Now, I can say with assurance and with out doubt, strongly convinced and founded in GOD: "Trust in Him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before Him. GOD is a refuge for us."

Are you settle and sure in your heart, soul, mind and spirit that GOD alone is your refuge? Do you turn to GOD before doing anything? Do you look to GOD as a servant looks to his master, or a handmaiden looks to her mistress? Can you say, with King David, "My soul, wait thou only upon GOD"?

Trust in Him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us.

WAITING ON GOD

Friday, July 2, 2010
Psalm 52: 8,9
I am like a green olive tree in the house of GOD; I trust in the mercy of GOD forever and ever. I will praise Thee forever, because Thou hast done it; and I will wait on Thy Name; for it is good before Thy saints.

I love the image of the green olive tree. When a plant is green, it means that it is healthy and alive; ready to bring forth fruit. The olive tree is the plant that gives the oil for the lamp in the House of GOD. It is the tree that provides the oil for the menorah in the Holy Place. So, if I am like a green olive tree, that means that I am alive and healthy; ready to bring forth the fruit of the Spirit; I am fed by the Holy oil of the Holy Spirit and aglow with light.

How does one become a "green olive tree in the House of GOD"? By trusting in His mercy; by praising the LORD GOD, because He has accomplished everything good; by waiting on the LORD GOD whose Name is Holy. All this is a testimony of faith in GOD, to all people who see the Light of the Glory of GOD shining through the life of the Children of GOD are strengthened. The bright Light encourages others to trust his mercy, praise His Name and wait patiently for Him. We are living examples of the grace and mercy of GOD.

TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART; PRAISE HIS NAME FOREVER; WAIT PATIENTLY FOR HIM AND HE WILL GIVE YOU YOUR HEART'S DESIRE.
